Does the performance ever outweigh the outcome

If u beat a guy for 11 rnds make a mistake and get kod in the 12th does your stock fall or let’s say In Luis Ortiz case u put up a game fight and make a name for yourself but lose does he get another title shot anytime soon?

Mayorga vs. Sugar Shane comes to mind. Comedy value was high in that one.

If people like what they see, they want to see more of you. If they liked what they saw for 11 rounds chances are they'll want to see you again. The better question is can a fighter who was winning 11 rounds and gets knocked out in the 12th, can he come back and be that same fighter from rounds 1-11?

Ortiz lost 5 of the 9 rounds that came to an end and had most of his weapon taken, there isn't much going for him in this case

Sometimes the losing party will get other big fights. It just depends on their age and how good they looked and how good their opponent looked, etc. However, their stock generally goes up from what I've seen. That fight helped King Kong for sure.

a DQ loss made Andrew Golota a contender overnight.
