For Golovkin, If you consider the Canelo fight A level money, and everything else B level, it does not really matter if he fights A and the B, or B and then A.

Thing is GGG might have lost that A fight payday completely doe. I think its possible he gets beat before a Canelo rematch happens in Sept. or May 2019 now. Or perhaps even Sept. 2019 cuz if Canelo gets a year he might want a tune up or lesser opponent for his first fight back.

So in that way I think this suspension could end up f#cking up GGG's legacy if he never gets that Canelo rematch or he loses it when he's 6mos to 18mos older.

As posted by others, the biggest problem with NSAC is the doubt surrounding this fight until mid-April.

How do you not make a decision sooner for a fight of this magnitude.

This whole thing is a giant mess, this drama has done more good for a future fight with Nelo and GGG in September more than anything else.
The ban for Canelo If it really is meant to affect him should be a full year plus a heavy, heavy fine $5-10 million.

A 6 month suspension is a nothing but a slap on the wrist. If they want to take a stand and make a point - they have to suspend him for the the entire calendar year - like they would with any other boxer. (if indeed they declare that Canelo doesn't have enough evidence to prove he took it accidentally)

Another point: if he gets officially suspended, the fight isn't postponed. The fight is canceled. You can't postpone a sanctioned fight with a boxer who technically isn't allowed to box. And you certainly can't negotiate a fight with a suspended boxer, nor do any promo with a suspended boxer. So even if he comes back in August 17th, the promo tour wouldn't have happened, the presser, the advertisements, commercials, faceoffs - none of that will be able to happen.

Hell, remember when GGG wanted to fight Billy Joe in June (3 weeks after Canelo was scheduled to fight Chavez Jr) and GBP threw a huge fit saying "if he does that, we won't be able to fight him in September because that will not leave us enough time to properly promote the fight" (paraphrasing of course). So this definitely can't be a possibility either.
