    2017 Kicked Arse but 2018?

GGG-Canelo II hangs in the balance.

Thurman's Get-back fight hangs in the balance.

    Pac-Matthysse pushed back to July.

    Saunders-Murray pushed back to June.

It seems like the boxing world is really starting to disappoint.

Of course, we did still get a good scrap with Wilder-Ortiz and the WBSS Usyk-Breidis and Gassiev-Dorticos fights were very good.

Still though, the year is not looking so hot anymore.

I totally disagree, we’re getting Joshua/Parker, we got Wilder/Ortiz, Garcia/Lipinets, odds are we’ll see GGG/Canelo II, Hearns says Joshua/Wilder will definitely happen in 2018, Pacquiao/Matthyse is confirmed, Lomachenko/Linares is happening in April, Bellew/Haye II is happening May 5th, plus we’ve got lots of good prospects set to fight like Joe Joyce and Josh Kelly.

I think, and many will surely agree, 2018 will be even better than 2017. 2017 has a ****ty decision for Canelo/GGG fight, it had the ****** Mayweathrr MacGregor fight, it had Loma’s underwhelming victory against Rigondeaux... not the worst year but not the hardest year to top.

Some good points here. Loma-Rigo was a let-down but the fight itself happening with 2 gold medalists is a credit to the sport, regardless of result. Mayweather-McGregor was ****** but money talks, as always. GGG-Canelo I was a ****ty decision but was a good fight nonetheless.

Loma-Linares is in May I think, but yes. I'm glad it's happening. If Wilder-Joshua happens this year, then yes. I praise 2018, but I don't see that happening. Haye-Bellew II I could not care less about. Going in, I don't think Garcia-Lipinets was supposed to be much although it turned out to be good. I don't see Joshua-Parker being a great fight (I hope I'm wrong) but certainly, it is nice to see the belts unified even more.

      Good post, doe.

I’ve only recently become a big boxing fan so can’t compare it accurately but it seems like an active year so far to me. I’m enjoying it at least, obviously it’s frustrating when fights get pushed back, ducked, or cancelled but it also seems like it’s just the name of the game.

I hear ya. The business side of the sport is the most frustrating part, although without it, there wouldn't be a sport. **** like Mayweather-McGregor will always happen because the money potential is too high, no matter how ridiculous the event is. Canelo-Chavez Jr. was also a farce as I figured it would be, given Chavez Jr's history, but for the Mexican market, it was going to happen one way of the other.

Quigg/Valdez and Ritson/Cardle were also good fights so far this year, though not has high profile.

Quigg-Valde turned out better than I'd hoped for sure. Not bad at all.

              I haven't seen Ritson-Cardle, but I'll check it out.

It’s short but sweet, I will say only that.

Wow, man. Just watched it. Yeah, Cardle really came out well, but Ritson had too much power. If Cardle could punch, it could have been all over. Excellent scrap!
