That's why we have sanctioning bodies. You can't equate Parker's situation to Wilder, or bring Whyte into Parker's position. Wilder holds the WBC belt - fact. Whyte is the WBC Silver Champion - also fact. That makes him the number one contender for a shot at the WBC title held by Wilder - another fact. What can't you see?

Parker is the WBO champion. He dealt with his mandatory a month before Joshua dealt with HIS IBF mandatory. Making a fight between two champions who don't refuse to fight their number one contenders, as ordered by the sanctioning bodies is easier, especially when both fighters are represented by promoters, than dealing with a wildcard who is not represented by anyone in particular.

Who represents Wilder? Is it Lou diBella? Is it Shelly (sp?) Finkel? Is it Al Haymon? Surely, he needs to get his own house in order first. And Parker's team were more realistic, more quickly, about what they were prepared to accept, financially, than Wilder - whose demands were ridiculous, to say the least - until the Parker fight had already been made. To be honest, this clown kept calling out Joshua but then expected all the offers to come FROM the Joshua camp. I don't know how business is conducted in Trump's New World - but in the rest of the World, the person making the proposal (ie "calling out the other guy") has a responsibility to back it up with a firm offer (finance.)

Wilder doesn't have any more claim, nor right, to fight Anthony Joshua than does Joseph Parker. Indeed, there is some hypocrisy on his side, for complaining that he has been calling out AJ and not getting the fight, whilst turning down the number one contender in his own backyard (WBC,) who HAS done the right thing - (a) fought his way into the number one position; and (b) backed up his proposal with a firm offer - one which would net Wilder more than twice the best purse he has ever received.

To say that a contract to fight Whyte must include an automatic fight with Joshua is nonsensical (at least in the REAL World.) Simply put, if AJ loses to Parker, there is a clause which would make AJ's next fight a rematch with Parker (on a 45-55 split.) Thus AJ might not even be able to satisfy "his" obligation to a contract which wouldn't even bear his own signature! Upon whom would liability then fall?

We all know, Wilder hasn't wasted energy calling out Parker? Why not? What if Parker wins, this weekend? The answer is that Wilder is looking to get some of that milk he accuses Eddie Hearn of taking from Joshua. By comparison, a fight with Parker brings no such riches.

Frankly, probably the best deal Wilder could make for his career (and bank balance) would be to sign a promotional deal with Matchroom USA. Eddie will make him a LOT of money and it would make negotiating a fight with Joshua much simpler (although, in the past, Eddie has shown a willingness to work with everyone.)

If AJ wins, Wilder will, eventually get his turn. There is the issue of AJ's WBA mandatory to overcome first (this is what happens when you hold more than a single belt - something totally alien to Wilder.) The perfect scenario would be for AJ (assuming he wins on Saturday) to fight his mandatory in the Summer and for Wilder to defend his title against the number one contender in the WBC (Whyte) and then for the two victors to meet at the end of the year. An amazing way to close out 2018, by ending it with an undisputed Heavyweight Champion.

In the meantime, at least Wilder is raising his profile, back home.
