According to “Clenbuterol Residues in Bovine Feed and Meat” [1] Clenbuterol levels in contaminated beef (in Mexico) have values in the range 0.1 to 2.3 micrograms (max. recorded) of clenbuterol per kilogram of meat. So a 100g piece of steak could contain between 0.01 and 0.23 micrograms (i.e. 10-230 nanograms) of Clenbuterol. One of Canelo's samples (i.e. specimen 4121793) contained 600-800nanograms.
The half-life of clenbuterol in plasma, when administered to humans as a drug, was estimated to be about 35 h. The cumulative urinary excretion of unchanged compound corresponded to about 20% of the administered dose as measured at 72h following a single oral administration.
This is a clear indication that Canelo was using Clenbuterol illegally and got caught during the time when the drug did not fully disintegrated. I like both fighters but everything here indicates Canelo and his team used illegal means to enhance his performance.

This is a matter of when, not if, he will be suspended. The bigger question is: Will they suspend him AFTER the fight? Or before? If they suspend him before the fight, the fight is officially canceled, not just postponed.

Why would it fall on Canelo? The NSAC says if they can fight or not. I'm sure Canelo wants to fight & feels like he should be able to & if the NSAC says he can he will.
This is on the commission. This sorta sh^t would ALWAYS be on a commission no matter who's involved.Comment

The commission cancels the fight. This is basic sh^t & ain't got nothing to do with any fighter. Its not a fighters job to cancel their own fight & suspend themselves.Comment

With this complaint, Alvarez will face a 9 to 24mth suspension. It could be reduced up to 50 percent. But the penalty will start from date of the first failed test, Feb 17th. So the best case scenario, Canelo will be back well before a possible Sept 16th match (with whoever) - by august 19th.Last edited by Street15; 03-29-2018, 05:04 PM.Comment
