  • I think the commission hands are tied. There's no way they can buy the excuse when there was a significant amount of time between the failed tests. That would mean he kept eating the same tainted meat or he ate tainted meat from separate sources days apart. Once is probably an accident. Twice is unfathomable and makes you a cheater.

If he's suspended BEFORE the fight, the fight is formally canceled. They can't reschedule sanctioned fights when under suspension.

      • LMAO the commission definitely knows more than they have informed. They are basically accusing Canelo now. He is probably on HGH and all sorts of PEDs. **** Clenelo. Cotto, Khan and Kirkland should sue.

This is a matter of when, not if, he will be suspended. The bigger question is: Will they suspend him AFTER the fight? Or before? If they suspend him before the fight, the fight is officially canceled, not just postponed.
oh I get it now. Thanks, man!

Huh ? Clenbuterol has a half lie of about 30 hours. The tests were done on Feb 17 and Feb 20, with the tests both being received in the lab on Feb 21.

First test showed 0.6-0.8ng in his system, second test about 0.06-0.08ng in his system, so the second test just confirmed the first test as it would be consistent with how much would still be in his system after about 3 days if he had 0.6-0.8 in his system on Feb 17.

If he had eaten more of the alleged tainted meat between Feb 17 and Feb 20, the second test would have had a higher reading than 0.06-0.08.

He wasn't caught twice, he was caught once. eg if he was also tested Feb 18 and Feb 19, then all four tests would have been positive (presumably at about 0.3ng on Feb 18 and about 0.15ng on Feb 19).

Getting caught once is enough though.

Better question is WHEN does he claim to have eaten the meat ? If if was the day before on Feb 16, then presumably he would have been about 1.2-1.4ng the day before, and if it was the day before, why can't they specify what was eaten and where ? If the alleged meat consumption was Feb 15, then he would have been at about 2.4-2.8ng, and so on......

Contador was banned for having 0.05ng in his system and saying it was from meat eaten the day before. He had clean tests just days prior to that, so IF Contador was telling the truth, the meat would have put him at about 0.1ng (ish) at time of consumption (he actually claims to have eaten the same meat on each of the two days prior). Canelo was much higher than that (but depends how much in the alleged meat; how much eaten etc).

Its possible Canelo is innocent, but given his body changes etc, it just doesn't pass the smell test. I think Malignaggi summed it up best with 'if it took a failed test to convince you Canelo was using, you're an effing moron....'

              • This is definitely not good. If this is a disciplinary hearing, he's got to be 99% likely to get suspended. Does anyone remember the Nick Diaz disciplinary meeting? The "judges" are the NSAC officials who are accusing the defendant, which is ridiculous. Nick Diaz' lawyer blew the NSAC's lawyer away with a ridiculously strong case, and Nice Diaz was still suspended.

But, regardless of how much of a kangaroo court it will be, I guess the bigger news is that the NSAC has reviewed the evidence and has found something that causes them to believe Canelo should in fact be disciplined in some way. For those of us who want to see the fight, we can hope for only a fine. I suppose that is the least that he will get.

But I’ve had it in my sit for a long time. Real fighters don’t need to cheat and run. Mexican style my arse. Don’t get it twisted. He’s just getting outed now.

Only if you are an idiot.

Canelo represents himself, not all the mexican boxing world.

And you a rican, you need to shut up, Ricans are our dear sons.
