Billy Joe Saunders vs GGG - Undisputed Middleweight Title - Possible Dates?

Canelo vs GGG is almost certain to be cancelled.

Official Announcement will be coming soon.

That leaves GGG without an opponent for May 5th and Billy Joe Saunders will be the Number 1 guy to replace Canelo and make the fight for the:

    UNDISPUTED MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE

Finding the right date will be the biggest factor:

    Possible Dates:

May 5th - If BJS is recovering from a hand injury, is it worth risking making that date for what will be the biggest fight of his life.

May 26th - Same night as Football Champions League - if the fight takes place in America then having Champions League six hours before could be perfect for selling PPV in UK.

June 16th - Only scheduled boxing is Errol Spence Jr. vs. Carlos Ocampo on Showtime so not much competition for a HBO PPV event.

June 23rd - Make the fight in England and just replace Martin Murray with GGG.

    What do you guys think?

    This basically.

I think you scrap May 5 as sh^tty as that might sound to many fans. Its not gonna be the same plus I want more reasonable training times for both guys to prepare for the other.

So finding some date in late May to early July makes more sense as I see it. England works. New York works.

Agreed. No Point having BJS vs GGG in Las Vegas as neither guy has any fanbase there.

GGG's fanbase is in NY and BJS's is in England.

Also a HBO PPV between these two guys isn't going to sell more then 300-400k even with the UNDISPUTED MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE on the line.

This fight excites me just as much as Canelo vs GGG. This will prove if BJS is a legit top guy.

I thought GGG easily beat Canelo. I would love to see it end that way and Canelo never getting the chance to fight him again.

Yea I'd agree, but I kinda feel like they will try to PPV it still. And honestly GGG as the A side & 400k-ish would be great. I think he's bumped his Q rating with his performance in the first fight & probably more recently with all this PED bs.

I think BJS has proved himself already...and the haters will always have excuses w/e happens, whoever he beats.

But yea I've been saying BJS has huge spoiler potential vs GGG & Canelo so I really like this fight (assuming it were to get made). I got off him for a minute when he was being a lazy fat ass, but that Davey L performance got me back on the BJS war wagon.

I think HBO could probably sell 350-400k PPV's if they really push the Undisputed Middleweight Title angle.

Its also good that BJS made such a huge impact against Lemi.

Location would make sense in England, they could do close to 500k.

GGG could make $10 million, BJS $5 million.

I may be the only one who thinks that Canelo will be fighting GGG right on time in Vegas. I will continue to believe that until I read that the fight has been cancelled. Then GGG vs Saunders is perfect if it can be arranged. GGG has tried hard to unify 160 and this would give him a chance to finally do it.

June 23rd at some place like Wembley would sound good.
