I know the name JL Ivey.. there were a lot of tough KRONK guys. Especially in 83, 84 et. James wasnt one of them, though. James Toney was NEVER a KRONK fighter

He had a great camp for the Eubank fight, sparring with Virgil Hill and Marlon Starling and studying all Eubank tapes available (including Brown and Cannida fights). He had a great corner - Freddie Roach and Jimmy Tibbs. But his gameplan didn't work, he said afterwards he wanted to rough Eubank up for six rounds then put his foot on the gas and out-work him (Roach felt Eubank had no stamina).. Stretch looked too nervous and scared in there, although he pretended not to be, and Eubank was far too physically strong for him. When Eubank started opening up, you just knew that Stretch was out of there before long - Eubank too strong.

Stretch usually boxed on the move and used his legs a lot, staying to the outside of the ring - that would of worked better against Eubank (Eubank sometimes looked novice-like when forced to come forward, never learned to cut off the ring!) than trying to 'rough Eubank up'..

                Dujuan Johnson

all i know if he didn't get killed he would've been world champ easily. the man was a beast with power, solid chin, and fast hands.

real sad that he died. his fight with arron pryor was a classic.
                RIP Dujuan Johnson........

Yeah, Warren Jackson. Tough guy, limited in skill but great in strength.

My last day at Galaxy was March 22, 1993. It still seems that I worked with you one time down there. Were you there at all when Tom Johnson bought and owned the gym?
