Whyte is not the mandatory yet. There has been no mandate since Wilder took care of that tub of goo that used to be a respected fighter named Stiverne. Once he is mandated, every alphabet organization is different but for argument purposes let's just say Wilder can have 6 months to a year depending on the rules to make a fight. Then, they will order a purse bid but that will be at least another 30 days.

Wilder is not going to worry about all this stuff when it is that far out. Some organizations also will accept a top 5 ranked opponent in circumstances. Hearn and Whyte have zero leverage here. Not yet, not for a while.

I hope AJ is enjoying it while it lasts!!
Gassiev may be an even better HW than CW. I think his power will actually get better, sorta like Kell Brook may do better at 154 than he could at 147. I think Gassiev may be outgrowing the CW limit, and win/lose/draw against Usyk he should move up. He would be a legit fight for anyone.

Usyk? The dude is one of my favorite fighters going. Just a gem and a credit to the sport. But he has only borderline power now. If he tries to get to 220-230? Too big of a jump in my opinion. He is a natural at the CW division and should stay there.

I really do agree with you here. I think Gassiev being so young and big already has growing room to make the heavies quite nicely with more power as he gets bigger.
He can fight from the outside and go to war on the inside.
He will certainly be a problem for any of these heavies imo.

Amen to that. I am fine with Joshua taking one more payday so long as he gets past a game- but most likely overmatched- Parker. He is the bread winner, and if he wants to come to the US and fight Big Baby Miller to get some more fun money I say more power to him. But I do not see Joshua as scared of Wilder. I do not see Wilder scared of Joshua. This is internet fodder. Both these fighters know where the biggest paydays of their careers will be and how they will ensure their legacy: Against each other.

Joshua needs to pull his team together, sit them at a table, and have a Come To Jesus meeting. Tell them to make the freaking fight. Otherwise, public opinion will pass judgment on who is ducking who. Joshua cannot be blamed for unifying titles with Parker. He can be spotted a fight if he comes over to the US to show he can pull the eyeballs in here as well. After that? He needs Wilder. Period.

Not to mention the CW division is stacked and Gassiev will have been through some wars. And you are right- he dominated a good fighter in Yurier Dorticos by controlling the outside. It was a near perfect performance against a boxer you can not afford to make too many mistakes with.

Who you got between him and Usyk?

I have changed my mind like 8 times. I am leaning Gassiev as well, but I have been such a defender of Oleksandr Usyk I almost feel like a traitor. Usyk is just so good at adjusting to his opponent. So smooth. Makes it look almost easy. I think "Gassiev coming into his own, will dominate. Too much power, almost as good in skills" Then I think "You moron, look how goos Usyk is!! He will adjust to what Gassiev wants to do and take it away from him with new angles and school the kid!!"

I am really arguing with myself.

Ha thats really funny bro. I have the same argument going back and forth in my mind.
Im just glad i like both fighters so as long as its a decent fight, may the best man win.

I don’t see an issue, agree the contract stipulations with AJ and then fight Whyte for a flat fee to secure the fight ! How it any different from when AJ fought Molina knowing full well if he won the Klitschko contract was signed.
