The rule should be, a fighter cannot weigh at or above the next highest weight class. So a fight at 160 would mean you could only weight 167 before entering the ring.
    I do like this idea.

losing to a guy who you outweight by 20-30 pounds isn't a good look neither is beating him, especially when it's a competitive back and forth fight.

It sure would change things around. Most champions below heavyweight would have to give up their world title because they could no longer make weight. Welterweights would become middleweights and middleweights would become light heavyweights. Light heavyweights would become cruiserweights and cruiserweights would become heavyweights. Can you imagine Hurd weighing 154 right before he stepped into the ring? For about 100 years boxers weighed in about 8 hours before the fight. They should return to that but they never will. Even weighing in 8 hours before the fight would force many champions to vacate their tittle and move up a weight class.

Yeah it would be good. It's not like fighters would be bothered about fight night weight although it would make some fighters look bad.

Some of the 154 pounders are enormous.

lol I think a little misunderstanding here.

I'm not talking about weighing in before the fight at the weightclass limit.

I'm just talking about after weigh in the day before, just get their fight night weight just for us to see.

Another example: it would've been nice to have seen how much more weight canelo had on fight night when he fought Cotto.

exactly, some 54 guys are huge, I'd like to see what they weigh during the fight.
