Comments Thread For: Sanchez: If Usyk fights like last time, Gassiev makes it a short night!

BoxingScene.com caught up with world class trainer Abel Sanchez over the weekend to get his thoughts on some of his fighters up coming fights. WBA/IBF cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev (26-0) is scheduled to face Oleksandr Usyk (14-0) in the finals of the World Boxing Super Series on May 11th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

I thought the fight was going to be pushed back from May 11th? Good to see Abel still thinks it's on for that date.

I love this fight. Nothing but respect for both fighters and I think their styles will mesh very well. Hopefully it's picked up on US TV.

Gassiev doesnt fight like Breidis, so Usyk will fight differently against him. And he definitely won't try and beat him at his own game, like Dorticos did.

Gassiev is so different from Breidis, and Usyk is so different from Dorticos, that trying to pick the winner of the final, based on the semis, is impossible.

I think Usyk has the right style and the attributes to beat Gassiev on points, if he uses them and doesn't get careless.

Great 50/50 fight. Usyk´d stance might make a difference, I think Gassiev struggled a bit with Lebedev´s stance and movement. Of course Gassiev was kind of green and still won..

Gassiev's left hooks to the head and the body will dictate this fight

Still yet to be convinced about Usyk. A lot of his work is head down then launch a flurry with a fairly low hit %. Great feet and fast hands but the rest of his game I'm still not sure about

Usyk will school Gassiev, he is multi dimensional fighter. Every fighter he fights he fights them differently. Future Undisputed undefeated CW Champ!
