Can someone explain how GGG is going to fight May 5th if Canelo gets suspended

Derevyanchenko or Andrade would be good fights but those are not Cinco de Mayo in Vegas fights.

People bought tickets, hotel rooms and airline tickets to see GGG vs. Canelo. If the fight is canceled people are getting refunds and canceling rooms and flights

Saunders only has a minor hand injury, and Frank Warren himself had talked up BJS stepping in on May 5th.

However it’s all irrelevant anyway, this fight is 99.999999% happening, I’ll be absolutely astounded if this fight is cancelled. Way too much MONEY on the table for EVERYONE involved.

Jermall said he would fight GGG on May 5th and so did Andrade. He is the world middleweight champion and reasonably popular even without Canelo. In the unlikely event that Canelo isn't allowed to fight GGG will get a decent replacement. It's been done many times in the past on this much notice.

His fight was postponed before Canelo got suspended.

True, but the postponement happened within a week or so of the news breaking that Canelo had failed two tests, thus putting the rematch in jeopardy. I expect Saunders to step in for the right amount of money, even if he actually has a slight injury.

I think it'll make the most sense to just postpone the fight til September.

I don't think many guys who'll sell will want the fight on such late notice. And it sounds like some guys in play are injured or booked. So I think there are too many obstacles to expect SOMETHING not to f#ck things up even if they wanna fight & make moves to make a fight.
