I think it's a US PPV fight right now, and that's just based on Wilder's tv ratings of late in comparison to others. His premium cable numbers are really noteworthy. I give it a floor of 300k, a ceiling of 1.2 million. It's hard to say what type of pull a HW fight would get. It's been so long lol

His viewing figures are nothing special. He does ~1m like most other 'name' fighters in the U.S.

They may be a PPV fight, but I simply couldn't imagine them doing much more than a coupla hundred k as Wilder is not known in the States, and of course neither is Joshua.

He's not going because he realizes what any logical person does. They'll have security all over him (there was a fair amount around him for the VK fight too), then he'll randomly get ambushed by the Whyte camp. Deflecting attention away from the fight that matters.

It's so blatant what the Sky team/Hearn were planning after last weekend's farce.

Okay let me break this down since you seem to miss the nuance here lol

By coming over there and getting into some dust up with Whyte, it deflects from Joshua. With the vast majority of Joshua's fans being casuals all they will focus on is the fact that there was a confrontation between Whyte and Wilder. Why? Because they're casuals lol

It's all a ploy to lower the public pressure on AJ. A blind man could see this play.

Wilder really doesn't need to do anything in the UK because they'll buy an AJ fight anyway. That argument is bogus. Why do you think Eddie wants AJ to fight in BK next? Because he knows 700k plus brits will by the PPV no matter what lol Wilder doesn't need to do anything there. He was just hoping to turn up the heat a little on AJ but that won't happen with Whyte screaming everywhere he goes .

I could see Joshua catch a L or Wilder catch a L in the next fight or within the next 12 months. I think you are giving both guys far too much credit with their talent.



If Hearn legit thinks both guys can make 20M+ for this fight I don't think he's as smart as I think he is. Although sh^t its boxing anything is possible, but I think its an extremely thin % of a chance of that happening vs one or both of them getting knocked off & potentially drastically lowering their value/appeal/allure/unbeatability in the hearts & minds of fans.

Randomly whats the time table & opponent selection look like from now (lets assume from Apr. 1 after a Joshua KO victory) til both guys are getting 20M+ in your opinion?

Truth^. Neither is great and either may lose at any time. Building a fight works when you have building materials. There's really nothing else for these two to do though. We've reached that prime point where Wilder had a really good win and AJ will be beating the #3. It's not going to get more prime and the risk is that one of these two is going to lose.

I honestly get the impression that Hearn doesn't want AJ in with Wilder. I don't really care what happens to Wilder but as a boxing fan, I want to see these two fight because it's the best the division can offer.

They are paying Wilders flight and hotels and giving him a microphone to millions of new listeners and he's p*ssed of because he might not get in the ring he's arguing over a distance of about 2 meters.

Wilder was invited into the ring after the Ortiz fight why does it have to be different for this one ?

Of course both guys must continue to beat good guys in order to build up the AJ vs Wilder fight. The best thing each could do is to fight a good fight on a major network in the other person's country.

Get Joshua to fight Miller at the Barclays. **** the drum of 'AJ coming to America' and so on. It would do huge numbers 100% on Showtime or HBO.

Then get Wilder to fight on PPV against Dillian Whyte at the O2. Guaranteed to make 500k PPVs in the UK and he would KO Whyte spectacularly - Imagine if he does it in 3 rounds. People will be saying "this guy is better than AJ".

How does Wilder fighting in the UK enhance this fight in any way? And specifically to the point of him getting less then $20M now to $20M+ as you are saying? I thought the UK fans were IN already cuz of Joshua?

Ultimately, the only road for both guys to make that kind of money is if it is a dual US/UK PPV- I don't know if it's a PPV fight in the US right now, but I couldn't imagine it is. At least not anything major major as in close to a million buys.

And nah its not getting 1M I agree. I think its in the 500k-750k range. I think there are a lot of things that'd sell this fight to mainstream fans if Hearn pushes it correctly which I have no reason to believe he won't. So it won't suck cuz mainstream people love HWs & these two look like they are straight from central casting for some boxing movie.
