2 1/2 weeks is not enough time for a thorough investigation to clear Canelo or suspend Canelo.
No matter what happens at the hearing April 10th somebody is getting screwed.

Agree. Its a wonky a$$ situation.
Personally I think they are gonna need to say before April 10 that the fight is off OR something to the effect of "if x, y & z make sense on April 10 the fight is happening" which would give the people who gotta make the decisions more of an idea if they need to call off the fight or not based on what x, y & z are & how likely those situations are to make sense by April 10.
You can't leave people hanging + have ads stop + have the fighters training like a fight may or may not happen vs the other guy in a month & change. They are hurting too many elements of this promotion by handling it like this.
Grow some f#cking balls NSAC. They grew one ball maybe by doing this, but they are still half a$$ing it is the weak part of all this.
Man the f#ck up. Fight is on or its off. Say which one b^tch!!!! -
My prediction. On April 10th they will say something along the lines of "..because this is a complicated case, more time will be needed in order to come to a concrete conclusion" (They'll probably place blame on the uncooperative farmers/butchers). "...upon further research and expertise of sports medicine doctors, his high trace levels on his first test seem more troubling now than they did initially. Based on Saul Alvarez's claim of innocence and the fact that he's been fully cooperative since testing positive, we would be practicing negligence by not conducting a fully comprehensive investigation that such a high profile case deserves. In the meantime, we have informed both Team Canelo and Team Golovkin that until the investigation reaches a conclusion, the May 5th bout is still a go. Team Golovkin, if they see fit, can appeal this process at anytime, through the proper channels, which will indefinitely postpone the bout scheduled for May 5th"
They'll carefully toe the line of trying to appease Team Golovkin's su****ions and concerns all while trying to maintain Canelo's innocence and try not to cast him out as guilty. Then they'll ultimately put the onus on Golovkin and make him the bad guy if he decides to appeal the decision/canceling the May 5th date.
I believe he will be suspended shortly after the fight and face a hefty fine. He'll be banned from fighting in the state of Nevada until May 2019. (meanwhile he'll be able to fight in Texas). Aka - a slap on the wrist. NSAC wins by still having that high profile fight on May 5th and they maintain "some" legitimacy by punishing the sport's highest profile fighter (albeit a slap on the wrist - but nonetheless)Last edited by Street15; 03-26-2018, 11:50 AM.Comment

I think VADA needs to have the same power as USADA has in UFC. Sanctioning bodies will find a way to excuse failed tests in order for the fight to proceed. WBA & WBC will lose millions if this fight is canceledAgree. Its a wonky a$$ situation.

I think NSAC started the investigation from the time they were informed of the positive test results, maybe around February 20. Maybe NSAC was pressured by the mounting criticisms by the boxing public and by GGG who accused them of not being fair so they issued a half ass ruling last week, a temporary suspension which doesn't mean anything and only adds confusion (is Caneloterol allowed to spar when under suspension?). NSAC needed another 2.5 weeks to come up with the final ruling but this further jeopardize the fight schedule which is due in 3 weeks from April 10. Since HBO and other fight distributors (to movie theaters) already suspended their promotion and advertisement of this fight, I suspect that Caneloterol will eventually be suspended permanently.Comment
