You do know that athletes that are household names in one country doesn't mean they are household names in every other country?

    They have their own market.
The Klitschko's were only popular in Germany. They were never popular in the U.K. The British boxing fan detested them.

You do know that Europe doesn't just consist of Germany and the UK don't you?

UK fans never really took to them no, but they were still quite known over here.

The UK fans love their boxers, and that's understandable, ............ THEY LIVE ON A FRIGGIN ISLAND!!! They really don't have much else to do except visit less boring countries or sit around at the pub ..... talkin' 'bout British boxing of course.

Having the 3rd biggest gate of all time doesn't make you more known to the world. And it's mostly Mexicans and Mexican-Americans that watch his fights. That's not going to make you bigger world-wide.

And no, we most certainly don't do PPV for Canelo. If we did, they would flop like you wouldn't believe.

AJ sold more PPV's than Canelo did. He sold 1.5 Mill for Wlad. And we don't even have anywhere near to the numbers that the US have.

                  No, my points are factual.

And no, Canelo isn't on PPV. I am British so I should know.

                  Try again though.

Boxing in general is not popular anymore, not after Mayweather retiring. UK has great atmosphere most of the time, but only 1 star. Maybe Haye?

US still has more stars in general.

It is true, the USA fans are still living in the past. It's so strongly ingrained into their minds that when a non-USA fighter is dominating they excuse it as being in a 'weak era' etc., because they still think back to the glory years of USA boxing and don't realise that the sport has grown, evolved and expanded exponentially outside US borders over the decades.

Countries that were never allowed to compete at world level are now able to, countries where boxing wasn't a big part of their culture is now much bigger thereby increasing the talent pool a hundredfold and increasing the number of professional level athletes from those countries etc.

Stop living in the past guys, it's not healthy. I know it sucks not being top dog anymore, but you gotta suck it up and move on.

                      Peace!
