I'd say that USA is still #1 but no longer undisputed. Slowly but surely the boxing world is becoming multipolar rather than completely US-centric

So you’re agreeing with me that the US is still at the forefront of the boxing industry.
Thanks for clarifying I was RIGHT.

“There’s no buzz in the US boxing”🤣🤣🤣🤣
I flew out to Vegas last year for Canelo-GGG and there was major “buzz” there. Instead of watching pathetic Eddie Hearn IFL interviews, go and attend shows on both sides of the pond and see what’s what. Fans over here generate a great atmosphere but nothing compares to that excitement of the build up in Vegas. You could argue the atmosphere is better over here but there is certainly more buzz around a superfight in Vegas.

Look at the money a US superfight generates via gate PPV etc and compare it to what a UK superfight generates via gate PPV split etc, then maybe, just maybe you’ll actually understand what you’re talking about.

Seriously man, I’m a from the UK so would love boxing to be bigger here than the US but what you’re spouting is utter bull****.
How does the cost of tickets and PPV amount to being BIGGER apart from financially, and why is that the factor that drives how "big" a sport is?

If 80k fans can watch AJ at a reasonable price and Vegas tickets sell for 10k a pop how is that good for the fans or the sport? and it's only bigger in financial terms, certainly not eyeballs on the event.

You're a bit of a moron I know, but surely you see how higher prices is a bad thing for the popularity of a sport...... or maybe you will continue to be an idiot.

          good luck with that x

A boxer is going to have to fight in America if they ever decide that that would want to reach super star status or become a global icon. When there's a boxing event held in America the whole world takes notice. The U.S. Is not called the Mecca of boxing for nothing.

Unfortunately the U.K. Is only a regional and local entity but the U.S. Is a global boxing market. It has a hegemony on the total sport of boxing. I am not saying that a local fighter cannot make a lot of money over there with the casual fans but in order to reach the Mayweather and the Manny Pacquiao status, then they are going to have to become popular among the global casual fan.

Another deluded Brit, I’m absolutely embarrassed by some of our “boxing fans”, I’m saying it’s a “BIGGER INDUSTRY” not that it’s better value for fans. Boxing is a BUSINESS whether we like it or not.
                Do you understand?????
There is more money in US boxing than there is in the UK that’s a fact. It can’t be argued.
                Idiot.

Hasn't that slowed down a lot?

I was thinking this myself for awhile, but you hardly here about anyone notable fighting in Macau now.

But yea any place with lotsa casino money can make a play on Vegas at some point. I think they would need to build a solid base of more local/regional talent first doe to grow it a lil bit more. Need another Zou Shiming type mfer or a more legit pro version of him. So might take a couple decades.

Canelo vs Golovkin would easily fill 100,000 seats at the Dallas Cowboys stadium and surpass Wembley.

But Las Vegas always means more money for the fighters and promoters.

Yea it doesn’t have much buzz right now there’s a lot of reasons at play. But top rank seems really adamant of making Boxing big in China they co promote shows there a lot
