HBO went from the top boxing network to Bum Fights

They are reduced to putting on showcase bouts for promoters like Eddie Hearn and Kathy Duva now. Peter Nelson really dropped the ball.

Lucas Browne was awful and had no business being on those once elite airwaves. Other than to make Dillian Shyte appear like a world beater.

HBO has fallen from grace. They chose to invest more in PC documentaries, gay comedians and lame television series. Less dates for boxing. Once they turned their back on PAC and Top Rank it really has been slim pickings for fights.

Top Rank loved to put on mismatches too, let's be honest. But nothing this poor.

And HBO also closed the door on Al Haymon fighters before that.

It's interesting to see the corner they have backed themselves into.

You could say the same for PBC with Wilder fighting the likes of Arreola and Spilka. PBC have had lots of one sided fights too.

Yea, tonight’s fight ****** pretty bad. Looked like 2 kangaroos fighting in slow motion. Really sad display of sports, or should I say just schitty overall. I also don’t like just Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman, they needed Roy to bring some knowledge and light to the fight

I'd rather watch boxing. They missed out on fights from PAC, Crawford, Loma, Zurdo, Jose Ramirez, Gvozdyk, Parker and more.

Whyte > any of Deontay's opponents?

I just read the "feared" Browne's record... he took NINE rounds to KO Julius Long? Long was once the go-to guy to pad a man's record... even Audley Harrison laid him out in two.

What about that unbiased ref though, eh? "He's got a cut"... WTF?

When they had the names, they could at least sell you on the idea that "You wanna see this guy fight this bum because he is the next big thing and might fight so-and-so next!"
Now, it's all uncompelling because there's no names, no fights they can tease, etc.

I'm not a network fanbow, they're all the same thing to me. I think HBO just ***ed themselves when they put so much into star building, only to lose those stars. Build the sport, and you'll draw boxing fans, not just fans of certain fighters.

Then the one good fight they have (Canelo vs GGG II) is a PPV! Not to mention it might not even happen!
