  • Face facts, Hearn is the best promoter in the game

No other promoter creates such hype around his fighters and he's been involved in massive events consistently over the years, throwing his fighters into dangerous fights. Like it or Not, if Spence and Thurman were UK fighters under Hearn they'd be commercial superstars. There's no doubt he's the top dog in promoting.

Yeah I think he is, it's his time. He's younger, hungrier, and just flat out works harder than the others, so it's hardly surprising.

People will talk about Sky, his Dad, and Joshua being the only reason, I think that is a haters perspective. All of those things have helped his success for sure, but he has made plenty of great decisions along the way, and he actually 'promotes' in the truest meaning of the word. He doesn't just stand and give a nice press conference pre-fight, and put a few tv adds and posters out in the build up, he actually promotes 24/7 365.

His Dad didn't just decide to hand him over a multi-million pound company without having proved himself first, Sky didn't just hand him over their boxing programming with a snap of the fingers, he would have had to demonstrate his vision and where he could take it, same with Joshua, EVERYONE was after him.

Bottom line is that he is a great salesmen, and although I wish promoters were not in boxing, they are a necessary evil. What I like about Hearn is his 'open book' policy and the transparency he has with his fighters and to a lesser extent, the fans.

People like him and Al Haymon from a management perspective are killing the old school promoters, who paid fighters flat fees and took advantage. It's still not ideal, but certainly a step in the right direction.

Don’t like him one bit, but I have to give him the credit he deserves. I use to be a hater and I criticised him when he said AJ would fight Wlad, never thought he would take that risk, and there has been a couple of fights that he has put his fighters in where I never thought he would. So yeah he does the talking but he walks the walk too.

Not really, he only has AJ as a star and just signed Khan who's been a star for years. Brook is a nobody now although at one stage he could have been something but his prime was spent fighting nobodies. Who else is there? There are barely any Sky dates now, yet pre-Eddie Sky sued to have Saturday fight nights almost every other week or at least once a month. Now its once in a blue moon.

Everyone done circle jerking to a picture of Hearn yet

Is the best promoter the one who can build the biggest stars because if that’s the case then wouldn’t it go to Top Rank/Arum because their responsible for consistently creating the biggest stars of the sport and do the best job of raising their entire stables Profile among boxing fans

Or is it the promoter right now who is Putting on the best fights consistently and if that’s the case it’s probably DiBella

Hearn right now has 1 star and a couple
Fighters who are only big in the Uk. throughout the calendar year he puts on 3-5 top end fights.
The only thing Hearn is #1 at is being over rated on NSB

His dad literally made a household name by actually marketing how boring someone was, whilst simultaneously promoting something as fundamentally boring as snooker. Yanks probably won't know what a legend of sports promotion Eddie's old man is.

The Hearn's are good at the job.

Dipoing his toe in America just gives another avenue for better fights to be made.

The biggest challenge for me is to see if he can make the Kazahk Olympian a star in England. Not in America where they are used to watching two foreigners fighting but here.

For the UK becomes a real avenue for fights to be made that don't have a definitive home corner then boxing itself will get such a massive boost.
