Ortiz did less than zero for the heavyweight division. But I know why you want to talk him up considering he's the only worthwhile opponent on Wilder's resume.
You're cranky because you simply can't convincingly defend his words anymore. He's dense and says dumb things. Get over it.

Your knee-jerk reaction to lash out at Wilder was cute because I criticize Wilder all the time.
You guys who have this child-like inclination to defend someone no matter what he says are always going to come out losers. They're pro boxers. They aren't in this line of work because they're smart. The only intelligent one I've seen in years was Andre Ward but even he said some contradictory and poorly thought-out things at times.

Write all the things that AJ said that were ******?

I see nothing wrong in anything he's said. But if you feel differently, tell me what he said that was ******?

Yikes... Well, I'm not going to be the one to break it to you but there's a very good reason that AJ sounds smart to you. I'll just leave it at that...

I never said AJ appears smart, just that I have no problem with anything he's said.

So you can't list the ****** things he's said then considering he supposedly says ****** things a lot?

          Thought so.

All the Heavyweights have shcit resumes. But its not the resume that's drawing in fans, It's the excitement that two particular Heavyweights bring into the ring. It's anticipation or two undefeated knock out punchers meeting in their prime, it's European boxing vs. American boxing. Like it or not, It's both AJ and Wilder who are reviving the division, they are the two most popular heavyweights since Lennox Lewis retired. You can also make the argument that they are more popular than the Klitschkos, Aj in Europe, and Wilder in America. Give credit where credit is due.

Oh I fully agree with you, I think you misunderstood me. I was just saying that you need more than just 1 good heavyweight to have an exciting division, thats why the Wlad era ******.

You are correct, I did misunderstand. But you know what, that era could have been far more interesting if Lennox Lewis would have manned up and fulfilled his rematch clause against Vitali, instead of pusifying the division and hiding behind an early retirement. Because Wlad was around for so long, we tend to forget how good Vitali was.

There's no doubt that Vitali was the more talented of the two. My issue with that era was that there were only two good HW boxers, and they would never fight eachother.

As for the Lewis retirement, he was 38. I wouldn't consider that to be an early retirement for a HW boxer. I do think that Vitali would have won that fight though had his eye not been destroyed

I guess to be more clear, I meant that he was the champ, top Heavyweight, and had not indicated before the fight that he was thinking about retiring. I think when he realized he could't beat Vitali, he threw in the proverbial towel. I think there's something to be said in a division when a top dog loses to the heir apparent. I mean what just happened with AJ and Wlad is kind of a perfect example of that. 40 year old Wlad after 15 months of inactivity, a loss in one of the worst Heavyweight fights in history, to one of the worst Heavyweights I have ever seen - AJ beats him and its hyped as if a young prime Wlad got taken out. Sometimes that alone is enough to jolt a division, and give it a little more life. Who knows what could have came if Vitali and Lewis had a rematch, and maybe a rubber match. Remember that was a good fhuking bout.

It was a damn good bout. I watched it again a couple weeks ago on youtube.

I think you're drastically underrating Fury though. The fight was boring as ****, but Fury had a gameplan and he stuck to it.
