Comments Thread For: Woodley: Mayweather's MMA Training Will Start Next Week

As BoxingScene.com reported last week, retired five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 27 KOs) has continued to tease a potential debut in mixed martial arts, after informing TMZ that he will soon apply for his MMA license. In August of last year, UFC superstar Conor McGregor swapped the octagon for the boxing ring to take on Mayweather, who won with a TKO in the 10th round to extend his perfect record to 50-0.

A forty something man trained to box for 20+ years will not get in the octagon and certainty no t against Conor McGregor.
    No foking way.

I hope Floyd is only doing this recreationally. If he's serious about fighting in the cage, he's a bigger fool than even his most ardent critics thought he was.

There's websites, like paddy power in the UK, and I'm sure there's more, that are setting odds and taking bets on Floyd fighting in the UFC. I'm 95% sure Floyd has worked out an agreement where he will continue to fuel the chances of him actually fighting, in return for some type of % of the bets placed on him. This man is too smart to think he has a chance in MMA at age 41 vs any top contender.

Oh there's definitely some angle where Floyd is profiting off all this BS. Like in those couple of ****** 8 second videos that were put out he had those "paddypower" shorts on.

LOL!! Anything to keep his name relevant whilst he's retired. People can be so dumb to think this is going to be a reality. He will never be an MMA fighter. This ruse is all for commercial purposes.
