    Told you guys before

He could have stayed at 135...unify with Easter and fight The Linares-Lomachenko winner but...

Mikey is in it for the money and at 140 there isn't the same name notoriety. In short, it's the weight.

The problem for Mikey is making weight, making 135 leaves too much on the scales.

I have thought the same thing since day 1. The dude flat out just don't want to make 135 he's only done it only once his entire career. 3 of his last 4 fights have been at 140 and his next fight will be his 3rd fight in a row at 140. There is more money and higher caliber fighters at 135 and 147. But he's too small for 147 and probably too big now for 135. Sadly for us fans is 140 is a weak division right now so I don't see any good fights for him unless he moves off that weight.

This will be an easier fight than Lipinets imo. I think Mikey stops Baranchyk. Despite the lengthy amateur career Baranchyk is reckless and easy to hit, I've seen him hurt and down a few times against lower level opposition than Mikey. He's going to get lit up.

140 isnt weak, Prograis/Ramirez/Taylor are real fights he'll go nowhere near. Too much risk, little reward, for Garcia at the moment if anything

I agree. I think Baranchyk, Figueroa, Relikh will be the level he will face. He's not touching those guys. Mikey not only wants a sure thing but also the easiest style to solve too.

He dropped Lipinets, so he still does have power at 140. It's just that his power is nothing like it was at 135 and under.

a good fight, Baranchyk's more aggressive and entertaining than Lipinets, he can actually box but he wont, he'll come for Garcia's head
