Lomachenko was never happening. He wanted Linares but lost that fight to Top Rank. I mean, come on, Easter? I’d rather see Relikh or Prograis get that shot.

Not a good look at all.

Didn't Lomachenko JUST announce he was a 135 fighter now

I’d probably pick Campbell to win the rematch myself, but wouldn’t be massively surprised if Mendy pulls it off

              Not really surprising

Only thing surprising is all the Timmy’s on here that believe Mikey is ducking Loma or Linares

We're all fans, but good Lord, I wish some folks on here would just apply basic common sense. Garcia and TR negotiating? Don't hold your breath.

that means there is a strong fighter at 135 that he is moving away from

Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia to Keep IBF 140-Pound Title, Baranchyk Bout Ordered

Mikey Garcia has informed the IBF that he'll keep its junior welterweight title. Garcia's decision, according to an ESPN.com report Friday morning, means he'll have to make a mandatory defense of the 140-pound championship he won from Sergey Lipinets on March 10 against Ivan Baranchyk. The IBF ordered the Garcia-Baranchyk bout Thursday, once the Springfield, New Jersey-based sanctioning organization received word from Garcia that he intends to remain at 140 pounds.

Linares who was the original champ then got injured and they boosted him to the WBC Diamond champ will they put that crap belt on the line for Linares/Loma? Will they just consolidate that WBC Regular and WBC Diamond champ into 1 for the winner of Linares/Loma? Or does it go vacant and somebody else now can fight for it. Looking at the sleazy WBC I can see them trying to find a way to get sanction money and involved in Linares/Loma somehow. lol
I think they are going to enforce Campbell-Mendy but you have a point regarding Linares' status. He was given something like Diamond status so in reality he should just go back to full champion and make this for both titles.
