Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia to Keep IBF 140-Pound Title, Baranchyk Bout Ordered
Mikey Garcia has informed the IBF that he'll keep its junior welterweight title. Garcia's decision, according to an ESPN.com report Friday morning, means he'll have to make a mandatory defense of the 140-pound championship he won from Sergey Lipinets on March 10 against Ivan Baranchyk. The IBF ordered the Garcia-Baranchyk bout Thursday, once the Springfield, New Jersey-based sanctioning organization received word from Garcia that he intends to remain at 140 pounds.

I wonder if now the Mikey saga is finally done if the WBC will try and involved with the Linares/Loma fight. Linares who was the original champ then got injured and they boosted him to the WBC Diamond champ will they put that crap belt on the line for Linares/Loma? Will they just consolidate that WBC Regular and WBC Diamond champ into 1 for the winner of Linares/Loma? Or does it go vacant and somebody else now can fight for it. Looking at the sleazy WBC I can see them trying to find a way to get sanction money and involved in Linares/Loma somehow. lolComment
