Andy Ruiz Jr vs Carlos Takam (who wins)?

Both fought Joseph Parker and arguably at least deserved a draw. Carlos Takam fought Anthony Joshua and was competitive against him in every round.

Who would win between these 2 underrated heavyweight contenders?

I would pick Ruiz on points. He is faster and throws more punches per round.

Takam is legit, gave povetkin hell also.

I think I'd go Ruiz though.

Carlos Takam easy unless he takes the fight on short notice like he did with Joshua

We are seeing the AJ effect. Anyone who fought and lost to AJ instantly becomes 10 times better because that proves how good AJ is. Look at Dylian Whyte. Even though he went razor close against a shot Chisora he must be a world beater because he went 8 rounds with AJ. Personally I think Ruiz. I was at that fight (with Parker) and remember thinking it could go either way.

Ruiz hasnt actually fought anyone beyond Parker in 2016 .

Takam fought Perez ,Joshua and Povetkin who i think was better than Parker ,i think Parker lost to Ruiz but i dont believe Parker is so passive next time if they fight again . I also think Takam won against Parker and he fought poorly .

I think an aggressive Takam at 235 /240 out works him ,hes a far better mover with better defense bc he rolls with punches and bends low and Ruiz straight up stance will give great body punching Takam opportunity to land easier .

He has way more experiance at high level. Anyone he fights after the Joshua fight will seem like a picnic ,who has Ruiz fought in almost a year and a half ?

Ruiz weight is also an issue .,he continued to gain weight in his 6'2 frame which DOES effect his mobilty ...... looking at Takam im not sure you want to pick against him just on that .

In my opinion, Ruiz would win this easily based on styles.

Takam gave Parker trouble by getting inside and putting pressure on him. This would play right into Ruiz's hands, who is not only more dangerous on the inside than Takam, but also a better counter puncher. Takam allowed Povetkin to fight on the inside which eventually got him knocked out.

I'll take Takam on points. Ruiz gassed pretty early against Parker so I don't see him being able to keep up with Takam over the duration of the 12 rounds.

Andy has been real inactive since his loss to Parker in 2016. In fact he has only fought once, 2 weeks ago.

I'm kinda pissed about it too, I would have gone to see the fight if I had known.

Anyway, if Ruiz trains at all, I gotta go with Andy by decision.
