Comments Thread For: Haye Admits: I Thought There Was No Way Bellew Could Win

Former two division world champion David Haye admits that he underestimated Tony Bellew in their first meeting last March at the O2 Arena in London. The former heavyweight world champion, 37, was stopped in the eleventh round. During the fight, he suffered a severe injury when his achilles ruptured. But even prior to the injury, Haye had his hands full and he wasn't dominating the action as many had expected.

Regardless of what people think of Haye, and he’s given people plenty of reasons to hate on and ridicule him... EVERYONE should want another Enzo Macarenelli performance from him against Bellew. Please David, take this fight seriously, stay fit and outbox the blast this mug out.

Was looking at Vegas this morning, and I still can't believe he's favored. 37 y/o with an ailing body, pulling out of every other fight with injuries and has been pretty inactive for the past 4 years. Bellew has remained consistently active. Are they using VADA for this fight, also? I can't imagine Tony wouldn't insist. We'll see how Haye's body holds up, but I have to think Tony can win this again.

I thought the same exact thing about Hayes mindset before the fight......it was like he thought he could pull a sedentary fat cab driver from his cab and beat him down with no resistance! Can't think like that for any fighter who's brave enough to step in a ring!

I didn't either, but then I remembered he's 38 and extremely fragile. Still got him beating bellew, just hope he stays healthy and motivated

There WAS no way Bellew could beat him. No way that Byrd would beat Vitali, no way Saddam would beat Cotto, no way Cotto beats Martinez. **** happens.

Remember when Haye was screaming that he was going to be heavyweight champ and retire before he turned 30? Now he's like 38 and way past his best with his body failing apart still fighting and not even for titles. Haye is a ****ing idiot.

All of the fighters you mentioned who lost were severely injured when they lost just like haye.
