Comments Thread For: Liam Smith: There is No Way Ali Beats Even a 75% Version of Cotto

Liam Smith has extra motivation to regain the world title against Sadam Ali with the knowledge a host of Americans are queueing up for unification clashes and domestic rivals Kell Brook and Amir Khan have joined the division. Smith (26-1-1-KO14) takes on Ali (26-1-KO14) in Verona, New York on May 12 in an attempt to recapture the WBO world light-middleweight crown he lost to Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in September 2016.

That’s boxing for you. Sometimes you have to pass on the torch. Not many people would pick Ali to beat Cotto, but not many people (Excluding Puerto ricans) picked Cotto to beat Martinez.

I agree he's one of the worst champ and a garbage fighter that's why Caneloterol choose to fight him to get a belt at 154 and possibly with the aid of PEDs and stacked handwraps in order to look spectacular in mauling Liam.

It was a Cherry Pick to Canelo but Nelo fought with Floyd, Lara, Cotto and Golovkin X2.

Thats a list of great rivals...

Liam has a good list too. He fought Caneloterol and now Ali (who defeated Cotto).

And if Canelo fought on a level playing field he’d have Ls against 3/4 fighters you mentioned
