Comments Thread For: Tony Bellew: Andre Ward Willing To Fight Me - He's Not Retired!

According to former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs), there is interest in a showdown from former unified super middleweight and light heavyweight champion Andre Ward (32-0, 16 KOs). Ward, 33 years old, retired from boxing last year, a few months after gaining a stoppage win over Sergey Kovalev in their June rematch.

I'm not entirely sure, he was making noise about coming back a little while ago but I feel like if he was serious he'd have made a move by now. He might be set on being retired, but more likely he can't make his mind up. Even though it's not like Ward made Mayweather levels of money, I'm sure he has enough to live the rest of his life in comfort if he wants to.

Ward doesn't want to fight again. He is just open to fighting Bellew in the UK. The new weight class and the UK crowd would get his fire back.

If Haye is 100% I think Bellew is going to lose...

Makes a ton of sense for Ward to do this. Bellew is a LHW who doesn't have much power and went up. He is probably the only name guy at HW that is safe for Ward to go after.

I wonder what type of crowd they could pull in the UK though.
