Who hits harder, George Foreman or Deontay Wilder?

Foreman and Wilder are possibly two of the hardest punching HWs ever. Neither of them were known for having good technique. I feel Wilder has more one-punch knockout power, while Foreman had more of the clubbing type of power.

    What do you think?

Deontay by a mile. you can't even name someone Foreman KOed with 1 punch until u get to a LHW Moorer and much later in his career when he was roided out of his mind.

Deontay not only hits harder. he's also more skilled and faster. Foreman had 2 left feet and couldn't throw a straight punch to save his life.

This is a tougher one to measure . Wilder has not fought guys with proven chins and Foremans own K.O % dropped significantly the heavier his opposition was .

Going by 250 plus Foreman i would still have to edge it to him . Not completely sold on Wilder as a top 5 hardest puncher coupled with many rabbit punches to the back of opponents heads .

Its close , i just dont think Wilder has enough credible opposition to put him over Foremans opposition bc they were better fighters than Molina , Duhaupas etc ...... Foreman also knocked out /hurt guys with less punches landed . Looking at just the fights themselves tells me Foremans punches make the opponents hurt more .

Jimmy Young kicked Ali's ass. Jimmy Young at his best would be top 5 making most of these clowns look foolish. Don't get me started on Jimmy Young's sabotaged (thanks Don King) career. Does not matter how hard someone hits if they cannot connect properly with an illusive target.

You MFers damn lost your damn minds with this Wilder...

The man officially fought his first live body just a few weeks ago, and Ortiz was 55 years old on fight night...off the juice.

I think Foreman had a world class jab and good technique but he just chose to bulldoze guys with swings. He showed his skill level in several fights though.

At this stage Wilder hasn't fought the same level of competition and chin in a big enough sample to really determine his attributes. The next couple of years will probably tell us a lot.

What I will say is that they are different types of punchers. Foreman is a clubber whilst Wilder is a slasher or a swordsman. So there are probably instances where the type of power they deliver might be more suited to knocking out a certain type of opponent.

E.g. A guy with good reflexes and footspeed might be able to avoid Foreman for 12 rounds, but Wilder with his speed might be able to get to the same fighter. Whereas a very tough, iron chin, indomitable type fighter might be able to stand up to Wilder's punches like Stiverne did, but Foreman could probably club that same guy through the ring like he did with Frazier, where the sheer weight of the punches just bludgeoned him to death.

Difficult question to answer. I think their power is very different. Wilder is more akin to Julian Jackson - he generates force through velocity and has a lot of 1 shot KOs. Foreman is more like Golovkin - someone with thudding power, naturally very heavy hands.

One guy is much more likely to knock you the the F out. The other guy is more likely to make you quit.
