Mikey Garcia may be the most overrated boxer I've seen in a long time

No. He has perhaps the best amateur record ever, started fighting names as soon as turning pro & his style is unlike anything we've seen before. If he were US/UK/MX-based he would be a massive star. Most people still don't know who he is unless they're boxing nerds.

To be fair Mikey isn't as overhyped as he could be. But he has a very standard meat & potatoes style. He isn't the type of fighter who jumps out at casual fans, but if he can reign anywhere he will have a large de facto fanbase behind him.

This is so true, but hey they even schit on legends & hall of famers. Me, I think Loma & Mikey are good fighters that have the potential to be great. I hope they meet.

Funny is that Mikey said he would rather fight Spence in 147 than Loma in 135.
Mikey seemed a bit bigger than Lippents. But I did noticed that he didn't have a good body structure (no six packs). I think Mikey is better off at 135 bs & then move up to 140 lbs. He sure has the goods. But he shouldn't move to welter, his body isn't there yet. He needs to grow into the weight first, otherwise he will be too small at the moment.

not to mention the huge flaws he's got when you watch him fight. spotty chin, bad instincts. yeah, he's super athletic, but there's so much more to being a fighter than that. this ain't dancing

mikey bites down now when he gets hit. i used to worry about how he'd react, but i think the layoff made him care more about the sport. i think linares is tough, but he does not have great instincts.

i remember watchinmg him roll punches the wrong way against demarco while the HBO broadcasting team was comparing him to ray robinson . by the end of the fight he was covered in blood and getting his ass kicked by antonio demarco
hmmm yeah thats why he chose to fight unknown lipinets instead of linares. oh wait the money...hmm yeah if you believe that crap. haymon gives him money outside of the official purse anyway and yet he chose to fight lipinets. hes another joke boxer who has been enabled. lipinets isnt even as good as jason sosa. oh wait he had a belt amazing!!!

Yeah I can imagine, in fact look at the first Castillo fight.

hes not overrated . Hes not flashy but to say he doesnt move his legs or has defense is really ****** to say. he barely gets hit cleanly.

Are you serious? PDL was a blown up featherweight and fought nothing like Castillo. Broner had a good size advantage against PDL, whereas Mayweather was fighting a bigger man for his first fight at 135.

Mayweather would've walked PDL down easily (IMO).

garcia actually wanted to quit against matt remillard because his stomach hurt. look around for the interview with his brother where he talks about it.

I'm saying Floyd had his PDL moment with Castillo. I mean Castillo was a solid fighter but he was not HOF material. Ponce De Leon was a solid fighter but not HOF material either.
