I think that’s completely ridiculous. But hypothetically, let’s say Mikey was trying to avoid a Lomachencko clash. He has the built in excuse of not wanting to work with Arum. And seeing how he shelfed himself for two of his prime years in order to get away from Arum. Most impartial folks would be very understanding.

I disagree. I'd usually agree with people saying Arum works like he works & I'm usually on your side of this. This time is different though.

Beating Mikey would help Loma get even more mainstream attention & a nice name on his resume. And I think Mikey would fight on ESPN or wherever. He's a free agent. Mikey is a businessman who can fight right now just like Floyd was during his post-Oscar years. And Arum is a in house guy, but I think he gambles all the time, usually on far lesser fights doe, with non-TR & un-optioned guys when its a good gamble to make. This would be one of those good gambles.

The upside is worth it & I believe Loma would be heavily expected to win. That would get Arum doing unusual sh^t vs his normal blueprint I'm willing to bet.

I think once Mikey lands at 135 a Loma fight gots to happen for the benefit of both guys. And its sh^t or get off the pot time for Arum with making Loma more mainstream & a Mikey W helps that.

The juice will be worth the squeeze here for Arum. Usually its not.

Call me a sceptic, but I just get a vibe that Mikey and Robert don't want the Lomachenko fight. If you watch their interviews on the subject over the last 6 months, you will see it also. Mikey recently said he is strictly a Showtime fighter. They have been acting weird when asked lately.

It took him over 2 years to be allowed to fight, because Arum kept it in court for that long, just to keep Mikey from fighting anyone. This isn't just another fighter, this is the exact same scenario that ODLH and Mayweather did. Mikey is a fighter who left Arum to go make money on his own.

Mayweather literally left Arum so he could fight ODLH. That was the best selling, highest grossing fight ever at the time. And Arum CHOSE to get left out, because he refused to do business with the man who left him.

Mayweather left Arum. Then Margarito, Cotto, Pac, etc. all were off limits. Arum just said no to Cotto, until Cotto's contract was up and he left and fought Floyd but not on TR. Like that wasn't a win for Cotto anyhow. Cotto had nothing to lose, he was an overwhelming underdog. Yet Arum still said no.

If Mikey was just another Haymon fighter, I might agree with you on this one. But this isn't just another Haymon fighter. This fighter literally fought Bob Arum in court for 2 and a half years. Mikey-Loma is not happening with Loma being with TR. It isn't Arum's greed but his vengeance, his hatred, that will keep this from happening. Loma can fight Linares, but after that there is no one. There are no big names at 135 or 140 besides Mikey. None. Arum don't care. Loma might, but Arum don't. Arum ain't in this for the money, Bob might have a few years left if he's lucky and he has more than he can spend in that time. This is about screwing over Mikey for leaving TR.

Two fights ago, Loma fought some bum no one ever heard of who had literally lost his previous fight. He lost a fight and his next fight was Loma. Then he fought a guy two divisions smaller. Loma ain't about challenging himself, he's about making that easy money with Arum.

Preaching to the choir a lil bit with this one. I'm of the belief Mikey straight jacked Arum's jedi mind trick of mentioning himself with other fighters in better positions then him or who are well thought of & isn't necessarily ready to fight as many of these guys who's names he gots on his lips.

Same could be said with the Rigo situation who was with TR at one time. I remember I used to argue against that fight happening myself cuz of greed & hurt feelings with Rigo & TR/Bob.

I think the Mikey situation will work out similarly. I think that fight could move quickly towards happening, just like the Rigo fight did, & largely be out of Arum's control. The fighters will want the fight, there aren't a lot of viable challenges for Loma at 135 & Arum needs ESPN dates & Arum needs to make a move on making Loma a PPV star if he's ever gonna attempt it. Loma vs Mikey is among the biggest fights to make in boxing & is a potential initial PPV fight for Loma to test the waters if they go that route. Makes sense for everyone. F#ck greed & hurt feelings.

We should see fairly quick regardless. Both of these guys are 30. They are likely a couple years from starting towards the downtrend of their careers. This ain't no forever sport. Its time to make moves & the day after Mikey has his next 135lb fight they aren't taking Loma's or Mikey's careers seriously if they don't make that fight within ~12mos & both should leave their respective teams ASAP from there if it doesn't get made unless they personally don't want the fight (or either lose of course then it maybe not sense either).

Hope you're right and I'm wrong, but I think you underestimate Arum's evilness. If Bob was willing to make fights like that Mikey would still be with him.

I don't see why Arum would hold a grudge here. And that second part is exactly why I see it happening. Either Arum is gonna need to give up on making Loma a mainstream/PPV guy or he's gonna need to fight Mikey.

I've been hearing whispers of the plan is Mikey vs Spence, but that seems like a horrible idea for Mikey. I'm not sure I like Mikey vs any of those tip top 147 guys. Porter seems beatable doe & right in Mikey's wheelhouse. Garcia vs Garcia could be interesting & I'd probably favor Mikey. Idk overall I think he's catching L's vs a whole lot of those guys & idk if he's catching L's below 147 to anyone except Loma right now...maybe Prograis, but he's young in the game. Maybe Josh Taylor, but he's young too.

I've never been accused of underestimating Arum's "evilness". In fact while I try not to be a hater on anyone I definitely have been accused of being a Arum/TR hater & admittedly I'm a strong disliker of him. But I don't think he's ****** at all either & this is a smart/dumb decision play not a good/evil decision play as far as I see it.

Arum would be spiting Loma to f#ck over Mikey.

Easter would beat the **** out of Garcia. The reason Easter hasnt been looking good lately is its hard to keep getting up for fights that don't result in belts. Let's see if Garcia will keep his word and fight Easter.
