I remember when Manny's contract with Arum was up in 2016(?) iirc (which makes me think Arum probably has him locked up til the end of 2018 or 2019 assuming the fairly standard 2 or 3 yr deal AND him being inactive mighta extended the deal depending on the wording of the contract) & plenty of cats were saying Manny should shop around more or go the freelance route. That was the perfect time to leave after the Floyd fight. There was nothing else for Manny at TR except to build the names of the future of TR type guys.

True. I wish more boxers would take control of their careers more.

It makes me think these contracts really castrate you & your options that so few guys do try to take control.

One of the reasons I've grown to hate post-fight interviews (besides the mostly hack questions) is boxers rarely fail to disappoint you when it comes to the "call out" part of the post fight interview & they give that "gotta sit down & talk to my promoter & team" bs & them passing on the chance to make some headlines besides the talk about their W.

At this stage of his career if Manny wants to fight Mathysse Arum should make the fight. Hes made Arum so much money over the years and stuck with him even when other fighters were going over to Golden Boy.plus its a fight where Manny and Arum would get to keep most of the money since Mathysse is the B side by a wide margin. Its a win win for Arum I don't get his reasoning these days. Maybe age is finally catching up to the bobfather

There’s a reason why Dela Hoya and Mayweather left Arum, I just wish Pac did the same thing when Arum started matching him against guys like Algieri, Rios, Vargas and Horn. He could have made more money fighting Broner, Khan, Garcia and Thurman. Now Arum is treating him like he owns him for life. I would rather see him retire to stop Arum from manipulating him.
