Lineal titles don't disqualify alphabet belts. They're just a greater concept. Alphabet titles are the minimum requirement to claim a divisional championship, but lineal is preferred. This isn't my opinion. It's an accepted practice in boxing.

Duke McKenzie was a 3 weight world champ, and it was harder to do it then than now.

One reason why Mexican fighter can win the multiple weight titles more than Brits is because they a much smaller.

Brits are naturally bigger, while small Mexicans and win multiple titles with the weight difference between classes only a couple of KGs.

It's much more impressive to dominate a weight class than to cherry pick paper titles at multiple weights.

Lineal titles are more respected as you beat the man who beat the man. They never lost their title in the ring, and were stripped for other reasons.
