A lot easier to do it today with

85 titles up for grabs, compared to yesteryear when they were just 8 titles

And that doesn't even start with the modern techniques of cutting weight and supplements to help you grow.

Yes they are. The lineal title doesn't exist. It's a mythical title. There are four recognized world titles in boxing. Pacquiao has held one in six divisions, not eight.

You can take the philosophical position that the belts don't make you the champion and that only beating the man who beat the man makes you champion, and that's fine. But it's apples and oranges. To count both, to get you to eight, is a complete fraud.

Whatever merit a world title or a lineal title has, it's two separate things. The official recognized championships of boxing and a statistical curiosity tracked by purists can't then be combined to buy Pacquiao two extra divisions. He didn't win a recognized world championship in those divisions. The entire thing is a sham.

Well clearly it's not the accepted practice in boxing, because if lineal was preferred, then fighters, promoters, networks and managers would be constantly trying to fill the vacancies, instead of completely ignoring them and continuing to focus on the real world titles.

Duke McKenzie was a 3 weight world champ, and it was harder to do it then than now.

One reason why Mexican fighter can win the multiple weight titles more than Brits is because they a much smaller.

Brits are naturally bigger, while small Mexicans and win multiple titles with the weight difference between classes only a couple of KGs.

It's much more impressive to dominate a weight class than to cherry pick paper titles at multiple weights.

Lineal titles are more respected as you beat the man who beat the man. They never lost their title in the ring, and were stripped for other reasons.

Only Márquez and Morales won 4 belts in the history of mexican boxing, now García is with them in the podium.
Mikey was born and lives in the USA, he is an American, not a Mexican.

Plus, of all those names you mentioned, he has beaten the lowest quality opposition to win the titles. Lips and that zlat midget at lw? Come on now.
