A bit of a stretch claiming hes FUN to watch .

If you fast forward his fight to the knock out point then it would be entirely different . He has TWO exciting fights , Stiverne 2 , and Ortiz..

One fight he gave a great K.O finish the other was a LEGIT top guy but it was exciting bc of Ortiz ability to out box Wilder .

Wilders fights are going to be exciting based on his opposition ,not Wilder himself . What seperates a dominant champion from Wilder is , hes not dominant in the ring until the K.O . this is a fact with his title defenses barring a couple .

Is this style FUN ? I guess for some ,but i think exciting would even be Parker moreso bc hes a pressure fighter at least even though he struggles even more . Wilder is too quirky and tentative for me .

Yeah i think a lot of people forget wilder has a really decent jab but that was taken away due to ortiz southpaw stance . But wilders jab is becoming a serious weapon against orthodox fighters and his straight right is elite and he has a very improved left hook as well .

Yes, Wilder's combination of flaws and punching power make him fun to watch.

But I'd still rather watch Floyd sit in the pocket, make guys miss, and pick them apart.

One can enjoy both styles while still preferring the skills of a true master boxer.

Look, I get the idea of the article... but it misses its own point. Boring fighters are hard to watch, fighters trying to actually WIN are exciting to watch.

Anyone who is a Mayweather fan was likely a fan from back in the early Floyd days. The guy that went to war with De La Hoya (so resented as a promoter we almost forget how great of a boxer Oscar was), DeMarcus Corley, Arturo Gatti, and those two fights with Jose Luis Castillo was a warrior out to win. One of the reasons Terrance Crawford is so enjoyed right now is the man can make any opponent look pedestrian, but he is also looking to dismantle and destroy that opponent not simply outpoint him.

Both Joshua (fairly flat footed, slow head movement, endurance problems at times) and Wilder (wide open stance, usually off-balance and lunging, totally in love with one power punch) are "flawed". But both are looking to WIN. It isn't their flaws which make them fun, but that they do want to dominate. So Wilder (unreal power, new respected chin, amazing speed and endurance for a HW) and Joshua (great power himself, very disciplined and calm in the ring, works so well behind the jab, ugly for an opponent if he lands a clean uppercut) have the power and desire to win that make them fun. Boxers that just try to outpoint and survive (Mayweather the entire last portion of his career) are the dull fighters the article lumps in with the great chess players trying to win.
