Are you really trying to sell that guy as a novice anything? Old doctor or not, he was able to check the leg kick/control range, fire his own strikes southpaw or othodox, mix in a bit of Muay Thai (think he almost went for a Thai plum), grapple on his feet, shoot a takedown, control posture (get to mount, hold own when opponent was going for a vine/leg sweep), and be generally comfortable using all of his tools.

Calling that guy a "old Filipino doctor" would be almost as bad as calling Rich "Ace" Franklin only a 'substitute teacher'

When I read on boxing scene top headlines that Floyd has an MMA fight coming up. I will believe it. Until then I don't believe it. Why in his old age would an undefeated and acknowledged great boxer who is ****** rich risk defeat at a type of fighting that is so different from boxing? He would be fighting guys 10 to 15 years younger who have perfected their MMA skills since they were children. If he does fight MMA fights I will be very interested and root for him to win. I think he needs to use his quick accurate punches to KO the MMA fighters as soon as possible. He doesn't want to end up fighting on the ground with a master of ground fighting.
