Too many reasons for Hearn to avoid Wilder at the moment for it to happen.
While AJ would likely win (consult betting odds if you disagree), Wilder is a serious threat (again, betting odds agree), and it suits Hearn to wait Wilder out until at least 2019. One factor is that I get the feeling AJ is improving with each outing, whereas Wilder is, well, just Wilder. That plus the 'marination' factor and high risk of AJ losing, too many reasons for Hearn to delay it.
Styles make fights, and I see Miller as tailor-made for AJ - little foot movement and shorter reach, and Hearn much more likely to go that route to introduce Joshua to the US to build up a 'mega-fight' with Wilder later on.
Also, while Hearn promotes Whyte, he has every reason to continue dangling Whyte in front of Wilder and maintain the 'beat Whyte and you get Joshua' line as Hearn gets a nice payday out of that too, else even the rematch of AJ/Whyte so that he can double-dip. While that rematch is a hard sell to anyone who knows anything about boxing (pretty much everyone on this site), most Joshua ticket-buyers don't, and would believe whatever they were told in the promotion (Whyte still having had that win over Joshua in the amateurs, so could be promoted as '1-1, The Decider' or some crip like that).Comment

All Joshua has to do is have 1 fight in the USA, and after the fight, talk a little trash about Wilder. Wilder will then hop up in the ring with that befoken suit with the bowtie, and proceed to deebo Joshua's interview. Joshua will probably let it happen with a smile, line up the fight.
Fighting in a tempered man's backyard is a great way to generate motivation on his side for the contest. I'm watching and I'm learning, Mr Hearns. Well done.
edit- I would like to say,
he needs to be 'friendly' with the American public. Have him visit at risk schools maybe, or something of that nature and do a positive speech. Maybe have some commercials of him helping the kids or something, publicized on youtube. shrug. I don't know - Being the good guy worked for George Foreman and got him on the 'friend' side of the public.
