Here is an actual article about WADA and banned athletes.

Any amount of Clenbuterol is doping, says WADA

'This is just the dopers adjusting or mis-adjusting to the testing'
Alberto Contador's lawyers will need to re-think their Tour de France doping defence. A WADA official reminded them that an athlete with any amount of the drug Clenbuterol is considered positive.

"Just because it's small doesn't mean it's not doping," WADA's Christiane Ayotte told the New York Times. "This is just the dopers adjusting or mis-adjusting to the testing."

Ayotte runs the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) lab outside of Montreal. She commented on the recent cases of athletes testing positive for small amounts of Clenbuterol. The drug helps breathing and weight loss.

    Recent cases:
    - China's Fuyu Li: 50-100 picograms
    - Italy's Alessandro Colò: 200 picograms
    - Spain's Alberto Contador: 50 picograms
    - Germany's Dimitrij Ovtcharov: 75 picograms
    - Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez: 600-800 picograms

    (0.6-0.8 nanogram = 600-800 picogram)

Here an actual research study that tested Clenbuterol adminstration with different doses and checked the actual clenbuterol amount in urine samples

Therapeutic dose (20, 40 and 80 micrograms/man) of clenbuterol hydrochloride, a beta 2-adrenergic stimulant, was orally administered to healthy volunteers, and the unmetabolized drug in plasma and urine was determined by enzyme immunoassay. The plasma levels of clenbuterol reached the maximum value of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.35 ng/ml, respectively, in a dose-dependent manner within 2.5 h, which lasted for over 6 h after the administration. The half-life of clenbuterol in plasma was estimated to be about 35 h. When the drug was orally administered repeatedly to men twice a day, the plasma level reached the plateau within 4 d after the initial administration. At that time, the plasma levels of the unchanged form were 0.2 to 0.3 ng/ml and 0.5 to 0.6 ng/ml at doses of 20 and 40 micrograms/man, respectively.

That shows you that Canelo's sample is exactly in line with taking high dosed Clenbuterol in tablet form over a longer time span.

If you want a ton of more infos you can check WADAs internal research studies, a huge power point information with lots of information and numbers

    https://www.wada-ama.org/sites/defau...sium_oct17.pdf

The conclusion is really sad: Distinction between meat and Spiropent® Clenbuterol tablets is not possible based on the enantiomeric composition, due to the reason that the ingested proportions of SClenbuterol are too close to the Spiropent® tablets.
    Directly from WADA website

“We acknowledge that the clenbuterol meat contamination issue is unsatisfactory,” said Olivier Niggli, Director General, WADA. “Accordingly, since 2011, the Agency has carried out several research studies aimed at providing analytical means to distinguish ingestion of clenbuterol by pharmacological origin versus that of meat contamination,” he continued. “We will continue to invest in scientific research to try to solve this issue as quickly as possible,” Niggli continued. “However, in the meantime, we maintain that disciplinary proceedings against athletes with low level urinary concentrations, from countries known for significant risk of exposure, would have little to no prospect of success; and, would be very unfair to the athletes concerned.

    Also from the link.

"All of the values were below 1ng/ml and therefore in the range of potential meat contamination cases."

Canelo's results were between 0.6-0.8 and 0.06-0.08. And he's from a country where meat contamination exists that's the key difference to the cyclist you idiots keep trying to compare who doesn't come from a meat contaminated country and thus had no valid excuse for how it entered his system. Canelo does and his traces were extremely low and in line with values they have identified for meat contaminated cases.

There is a valid excuse when the country you from is probably the contaminated meat capital of the world and his levels matched what they have seen from past contaminated studies. VADA, WADA, USADA all have a policy on how they treat athletes who have this substance AND live in countries where they put this crap in their meat.
That's ******ed. Same excuse as Canelo.

According the Food Safety and Inspection Service, in 1990, there were 135 persons in Spain that reported illness after consuming meat that was later found to have traces of clenbuterol.

Looks documented to me. Quick Google search (under 30 seconds).

Thats from 1990 not even this century and even when this story broke the Spain government disputed his claims and pointed to statistics that say Spain has no problem today with their meat. Mexico has a meat problem not in 1990 but today which is why they are on a list of countries that VADA, WADA, USADA recognize are high risk for meat contamination. Fact they treat cases in Mexico different because you are higher risk to ingest tainted meat in mexico. So comparing this to a cyclist in Europe is beyond dumb when WADA says they don't treat them the same

Nothing stating today there is a meat problem in Spain and even when this cyclist made the claim Spain came out blasting his claim they have a problem with their meat. The drug agencies didn't buy it. Spain and these other countries are not on the list of countries with this problem Mexico is that's the facts and why this is a different situation. And there is hard evidence that proves the issue in Mexico meat is real.

            http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/span...s-allegations/

The biggest association of Spanish meat producers, Asoprovac, has reacted firmly to Alberto Contador's claim that the ingestion of Clenbuterol-tainted meat caused his doping positive. The association, which accounts for 85 percent of the country's meat production industry, denied the possibility of contaminated meat on the Spanish market and has asked the public prosecutor to investigate the case.

"The rider attacks this production sector with impunity and falsifies the truth, calling into question the exhaustive control systems that are applied to bovine meat in the European Union and also in our country," Asoprovac declared.

Contador notably stated that in Spain, cattle were being illegally treated with Clenbuterol. "This is absolutely false," the association stated. "In 2010, the authorities carried out 14,179 controls, and there was not one positive case for Clenbuterol."

Drug testing in boxing is a sham at this level. Canelo fails two tests and now all that is required is for the excuse police to step it up to high gear. Think about it! Why have testing if when you fail if it impact profits it's ignored! We're not talking a false positive we're talking two failed tests in a row that they are now trying to convince the public are the same as false positives. A false positive means the test was wrong and retesting support that. What we have here is two failed tests, period! If there is no penalty then just stop all this sham testing

The CAS verdict statement said: “The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rendered its decision in the arbitration between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) & the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador & the Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC): the CAS has partially upheld the appeals filed by WADA and the UCI and has found Alberto Contador guilty of a doping offence.

“As a consequence, Alberto Contador is sanctioned with a two-year period of ineligibility starting retroactively on 25 January 2011, minus the period of the provisional suspension served in 2010-2011 (5 months and 19 days). The suspension should therefore come to an end on 5 August 2012.”

                      again..... they had ZERO proof

"WADA was expected to argue that the fat-burning, muscle-building drug was reintroduced into Contador's body July 20-21 last year by a blood transfusion, which itself would have been a doping offense."

                      also this:

Clenbuterol is not a new drug. It’s been around for 30 years. Experts say the level of the drug found in Contador’s system suggests it would have had no performance-enhancing effect
