Respect got lost for him when he started disrespecting the sport by not taking it seriously.

I was never that high on him at any time. He can punch hard and takes hard punches well. He has a low punch output per round. He has a poor defense against hard attackers who throw lots of punches at him with both hands. His main defense against fast two handed attacks seems to be a bear hug clinch. His three losses all came from guys who attacked him hard with both hands. In his loss to Garcia he showed a lack of determination and didn't try very hard to win. He lost just about every round. Vargas isn't as good as the 3 guys who beat Broner but he is game and tough and he attacks hard all 12 rounds. That might be enough to beat today's Broner unless he trains harder and tries harder to get the win.

I gained respect for him after he showed balls in the Maidana fight but he hasnt done anything since that loss. He keeps losing fights so why should anybody keep their faith in him.

Well, in that video .. have to remember Vargas used to train there often at the Mayweather Boxing Club.

Broner just isn't a good fighter or boxer anymore. More flash than substance and his flash is getting dull.

ponce de leon should have beat him and ponce de leon is not known as an amazing boxer...at all. pnce de leon was also moving up in weight from 126 to 130 for the fight and he had only been at 126 for 2 years...yet in the fight he had broner hesitating for most of the fight. he just doesnt have it and if a little guy like that can take it away from him he never will
