At this point, the only thing keeping Broner relevant is his mouth.

Here is a guy once again trying to use the scales as an advantage. 144 catch-weight for him vs Vargas. He either tries to weight bully fighting smaller guys, or tries to drain and weaken other guys.

Does that come across as a confident fighter to you?

He's the definition of a fighter who talks big but does not back it up at all.

When's the last time he looked great? Gavin Rees? His resume above 135 is very thin and his power has evaporated, only 2 KO's, both at 140 and both guys (Allakhverdiev and Theophane ffs) were stopped on their feet. He is nothing but a fringe contender at 140 and a gatekeeper at 147. At this point he only gets big fights because people want to see him get KTFO

Broner could have been one of the greats. Problem is he is so impressed with himself that he believes his mere presence in the ring is all that is required to be called the victor. He has to improve his stamina and increase his work rate. He has the skills but they’re wasted because he’s too lazy to implement them.

I never thought much of Broner. Don't know why people ever did, other than marketing.

He got a lot more mileage out of his mouth than he did his boxing. When most young prospects lose their "0" most casuals start losing interest. He is still getting good paydays despite three losses. If he loses to Vargas I think the gravy train has made its last stop.
