Why are people trying to make Joshua some mega star before he earns it?

parker is a much much safer fight then wilder. Joshua fully knows that (just playing on the ignorance of the fans) fury is a much safer fight for joshua. Joshua wants a fat inactive fury after parker. What kind of bull**** is that.

The guy is 28 and has fought for and won a world title in his 16th professional fight. On March 31st he attempts his second title unification fight and if successful he will hold 4 belts and have beaten 3 of the top 10 HW's according to Ring magazine in addition to the guy who ruled the division for the last 10 years. All this in a professional career that's just past 4 years.

Now if was 32 and he'd been fighting as a pro for 9 years and 40 fights and had faced perhaps 2 top ranked opponents during that time even after holding a version of the world title for over 3 years you'd have a better argument. Especially if he'd only faced one of the current top 10 hw's in the process. But perhaps that's a bad example, I can't possibly think of anyone with such a poor record.

I don't think people are trying to make him a star. He is a star. Times and standards change. Nobody is saying he's great yet but he's selling out huge stadiums, there's also a large secondary market on his tickets in addition to large viewership and celebrity profile. He could literally fight any poster here and it will sell more tickets than Wilder vs. any other heavyweight. That's star power. It's not legendary accomplishments. He has to defeat Wilder, Fury, Parker and reign for a while to earn that. There's a difference.

Canelo is a bigger star than Marquez, Morales, Barrera ever was. Not one person thinks he's better than any of those guys.

Joshua is what I would describe as a domestic superstar. He could probably fill any arena in the UK. But he’s yet to prove he can draw outside of the UK.

resume has nothing to do with star power. you love floyd so you should know that. floyd didn't have his first unification until he was 36 so if its so normal why didnt floyd do it until then???

This coming for the guy who thought Broner would be fighter of the decade back in 2012 when he only had 22 fights at age 22 and not one HOF fighter on his resume. Bet you are all up on Gervonta now.
