The Ruiz fight was close, but on the eye test, post fight andy looked like his face had been put through a mincer while you couldn't tell oilskin had even been 12 rounds.

It would have been an injustice to award that win to Ruiz.

...as it would have been to Baby Hughie who danced around the ring for 12 rounds avoiding an increasingly frustrated Parker who took the fight to him but couldn't land anything significant.

The Cojanu fight was a joke. Raz landed nothing, talked smack, lost every round and because of his intimate knowledge of every Parker tell from being a long time sparring partner knew enough to stay away from him or risk getting flattened.

If AJ wanted a sparring partner to help beat Parker. Cojanu would be the better bet than Takam.

None of that changes my initial point in the slightest though. I'm saying that the marketing had me believing Parker was in with a decent shot here, but after reflecting on their past performances if seems abundantly clear that AJ is probably a few levels above Parker and is likely to win fairly comfortably.

AJ's past 2 performances had him knocked down by an old ex champ who didn't have the gas to put him away...

...and a journeyman on 2 weeks notice AJ struggled to put away but for a dubious home cooked refs premature stoppage.

Parker is neither of those so there is nothing to suggest this is going to be a win for AJ apart from home cooked judges over the distance or that it will be comfortable for him keeping Parker away from his glass jaw.

Oilskin is perfectly capable of sitting the giant robot on his ass and finishing him if he gets up again!

        Is that abundantly clear enough?

          Hi bud

I see the upset of the year. I sense Parker is on a mission, one thing we will find out is Parkers power as he won't need to go hunting for AJ. I've seen quite a bit of footage on Parkers training. I do believe Parker is so up for this fight they pushed hard for it and even settled for 30% of the money this fight will make.

An upset is definitely possible it's boxing, but I'm not really convinced Parker's power is that hectic. He was blowing through bums but he hasn't stopped anyone since getting to world level.

Haven’t seen the Fury fight, but I’d contend that he at best drew the Takam fight and got given a gift against Ruiz. He won wide against Cojanu, but the whole fight was hot garbage and Parker was incredibly lacklustre against an unutterably poor opponent. Perhaps he’ll surprise me against AJ, but I doubt it as he’s so hilariously easy to hit.

He's easy to hit once, not so much twice and never 3 times in row before you wake the samoan warrior within...

                  ...and then lookout!

Apology accepted and I would imagine there's a lot of things you're unaware or just plain ignorant of...

Why would Arum gift the top rank WBO belt to Parker against his own guy in Ruiz ?
