This isn't a comment on whether Canelo deliberately used Clenbuterol or ingested it inadvertently, because I honestly don't know, but just because the metabolite levels were 'in the range of potential meat contamination cases' does not mean they were not also in the range of PED usage. It's just a matter of the timing - any metabolite is eliminated at a certain rate (it's half-life). If the original dose was larger it would just mean a longer time would have had to elapse between the ingestion or administration of the substance and the observed level of metabolites in the bloodstream. There has been considerable attention given to the fact that Canelos levels were with the range of potential meat contamination, but all that means is that the meat story is not ruled out by the evidence, not that it is true.
Anyway. regardless. This will be brushed under the carpet and the fight will continue. Business as usual. The only thing that I find really distasteful in this whole affair is the blatant hypocrisy of the WBC and WBA in failing to enforce their own rules.
