Also stylistically he’s made for Inoue. He’s just too straight forward and basic for him. McDonnell coming forward with the high guard will get lit up by the faster more dynamic Inoue. You make a fair point about Jamie’s physical advantages but he doesn’t really utilise these effectively in the ring, he relies a lot more on toughness, industry, work rate etc and that’s not enough to beat Inoue.
Fair play to McDonnell though he’ll genuinely fight anyone.
I never said Jamie is p4p, I'm saying what inoue is doing definition of p4p, ie moving up in weight, against a guy with all the physical advantages and relying on his skill to win.

However, it will be crucial to see how Jamie reacts to the weight as someone here just reminded me he had a bit of trouble last time out and there was talk of moving up.

If Jamie comes in fit at the weight this will be a great fight.

wow wow wow amazing. i much prefer this over ssr. the bantamweight division is absolutely 100% underrated atm. jamie mcdonnell is one of the best in the sport IMO and arguably the best at bantamweight. HUGE step up for naoya inoue.

i think jamie mcdonnell has a very good chance to beat naoya inoue. no way inoue can beat anyone much taller than him. no way. inoue has been exclusively fighting guys his own height or slightly smaller or taller. never has he fought or beaten anyone who was a few inches taller than him.

HUGE HUGE STEP UP!!! GET EXCITED GUYS!

You called it a “true p4p fight” so I thought you we’re trying to say they were both p4p fighters, I get what you mean though in terms of skill will be overcoming size.

Good point about the weight, it seems Jamie can’t make it healthily anymore or at least without leaving himsekf weakened/drained. I think a fully fit McDonnell would have a lot of trouble with Inoue, a drained one is gonna take a beating.
