The main case against Canelo here is lack of responsibility. It's well known that Mexican meat is contaminated and there's a chance you could get clipped by a drug test if you consume it. Someone in his position, with the people around him, and the money that he has should never put himself in this position. He should be importing meat, or moving his training camp to the states. Especially for a fight of this magnitude.
I give him the benefit of the doubt here, as many should, but if this happens again he deserves to be punished severely.Comment

There has been some scepticism of Contador's claim that contaminated meat was to blame. In 2008 and 2009, only one animal sample came back positive for clenbuterol out of 83,203 animal samples tested by EU member nations. Out of 19,431 animal tests in Spain over the same period, there were no samples that came back positive for clenbuterol.Clenbuterol, a PED, found in Canelo's organism is also used by Professional Cyclists too. Do they also eat tainted meat?
Cycling Champion Alberto Contador was caugh for using it & he got banned for 2 years. He also said it was because of tainted meat but nobody believed him.
That combined with the fact that no one ever offered any explanation of what this contaminated meat may have been or where it came from, led to Contador's penalties.
A majority of the players tested at the Under-17 World Cup in Mexico had traces of clenbuterol in their bodies because they ate contaminated meat, FIFA said Monday.
Tests in Germany after the tournament revealed players from 19 of the 24 teams had adverse findings of the banned anabolic agent in 109 of 208 urine samples.
FIFA medical officer Jiri Dvorak called the results "highly surprising" but insisted that teenage soccer players were not cheating.
"It is not a problem of doping, but a problem of public health," Dvorak told reporters, adding that none of the players were harmed or put in any danger.
FIFA and the World Anti-Doping Agency declined to prosecute any cases because the weight of evidence pointed to contamination.
Mexican authorities have acknowledged the country has issues with feeding banned steroids to livestock.

The reason many believe it could have been contaminated meat, is that it is a common problem in Mexico and thus, much more plausible. Eating meat contaminated with clenbuterol in Spain is as likely as it is to happen in the U.S.
I'm not saying Canelo did or didn't take it to cheat, I'm just explaining why someone living and training in Mexico holds more credibility than someone in Spain when claiming tainted meat was the source.Comment

Because blaming the failed test on tacos is like saying the dog ate my homework!
