Drug cheat Neloterol should be banned from boxing.

Boxing doesn't need another drug cheater like him.

What he has done to boxing anyway? Knocking out undersized drug-free opponents while he's roided to the gills?

Based on rules it absolutely should be but I hope that it doesn't. It's tainted now but there's too much money involved.

Canelo should be tested every day until the fight. Perhaps even in the ring.

Canelo should take a massive pay cut penalty.

I'm in 2 minds but am in favour of a ban. The drug testing in our sport has been a joke for so long, in recent years it has improved although the level of excuse accepting from fans and some of the stuff some fighters have gotten away with has been very questionable, so it feels like 2 steps forward 1 step back a lot of the time but bottom line this is a sport where people can kill one another and there has been a lot of mouthpiece/soundbite stuff from commissions and promoters but this is the biggest name to be caught pre-fight and how it gets handled says a lot.

There is no unanimous view from fans on the issue which a big part of why testing has been so weak for so long. But IMO it comes down to if you want a sport where testing positive=a ban no matter what or one where the bigger names can claim tainted beef/contaminated supplement/**** pill/uncastrated boar/it was a low amount so nevermind etc. and have a decent chance at getting away with it.

I do see the flipside which is that if Canelo cheated here, he probably cheated before the first fight and Golovkin won that in most people's eyes so he can win here and 4 months from now we'll look back on the test as no big deal. There is also the question of who the ban punishes most. Obviously Canelo is punished by a ban but also Golovkin loses out on the big payday legacy fight. Plus most likely pushing their rematch back further is going to harm the older fighter's chances more so than the younger guys.

If Golovkin wins on May 5th he can move on, if Canelo sits out for a year then has a tune-up/comeback fight while Golovkin fights BJS, Charlo, Jacobs and then faces Canelo, GGG will have a lot more wear and tear as those are 3 hard fights. This is all hypothetical of course and anything can happen but I can see why if you're a hardcore Golovkin fan you want the fight to happen ASAP rather than a ban. I quite like Golovkin but I also like to see new blood reach the top level. Charlo would be next in line if WBC enforce it and if he beat Golovkin I'd prefer that to him losing to a cheat who was coming off of a drug ban. Plus one problem now is that banned fighters don't get tested while banned so that needs to change.

So yeah, I see why people want the fight to go on but we need better drug testing and consistent rules/principles and that means a ban for all positive tests like this. Nery claimed contamination for the same substance but then was unable to make weight for the next fight without it so this stuff makes a difference and the excuse is not valid.

            No

Clembutaral seems like a common PED in Mexican meat

            It’s no big deal

It'll get swept under the rug, and the fight will go ahead. I don't think it should. Can't risk a fighter that failed a drug test winning such a big prize.

Am on the fence about this, GGG has trained hard. And the money he is expected to make etc even if he cancels the fight and sue AKA Wilder v Pedvetkin, would he get that monies in court? The court process is long and sometimes uncomfortable.

Only person who should make this judgment call is Golovkin himself.

Mexico has a serious problem with their meat. Also cases in the NFL of player who went to Mexico on vacation for a week came back with traces and the NFL that has very strict drug suspension policy did not suspend the player. VADA already said the amount is very low and what you find from food contamination no chance Nevada calls off the fight. Hell nobody from GGG camp is calling for the fight to be called off either. Test canelo more if you are worried and if he passes all tests then the fight goes on.
                    Stop comparing apples and pears.
We not talkin bout an athlete on vacation for a week. WE TALKIN BOUT THHE HIGHEST PAID ATHLETE IN THE ***IN COUNTRY.

Unless his team are ***ing ******, it is an easily avoidable risk.

Took me 3 minutes to find some non tainted beef in Mexico.

                    RANCHO LAS LUISAS

"Arturo Mateos took over operations in 2007 with goals to convert the ranch into a profitable business with two main objectives in mind - obtaining organic certification and to introduce the famous highest marbling breed into the country."

Wagyu beef associations in general (stemming from the Japs) have very strict rules, otherwise you cannot call it Wagyu. I suspect Asociatión Wagyu Mexicana A.C is no different.
