lets face it, it was wilders limitations that made ortiz look good...

im fed up of hearing this complete nonsense about how great a fighter ortiz is, how that version of him would have beaten klitschko and joshua. And now wilder is the best fighter since muhammed ali according to richardson.

'ortiz showed how great he was on saturday night' is something i keep reading.
Do people not think that he looked great because of how poor a boxer wilder is? WHy is him giving wilder problems some proof of his greatness

Many were vocal about ortiz's limitations pre fight but we all knew how sloppy wilder is and for that reason it was a dangerous fight as it proved.

Lets face it hes not the first person to outbox wilder, spzlika looked like a million dollars at times in that fight against wilder and hes shown himself to be a complete bum. Washington looked sharp too, molina had him doing the harlem shake.

Its funny too, when lomachenko beat rigondeaux you all said 'oh well rigo was old, hed lost his reflexes' well what about ortiz then? He looked slow as **** as he had done in the last couple of years. They werent even sure he could fight cause of his blood pressure lol, this is a guy whos meant to be late 30s.

Its a good solid win and a hard fight that wilder didnt have to take to his credit, but jesus christ can we calm the hype down a bit.

Just give them all a couple of days. It was the same after he knocked stiverne out. I genuinely think his fans are going over the top because even they didn't expect him to beat ortiz.

Just because 1 or 2 people make idiotic hyperbolic claims doesn't mean people are hyping him to the degree you claim. What I am seeing a lot of idiotic threads though by people hating on absolutely idiotic stuff. Most people seemingly are giving him props for proving them wrong, showing heart etc. Many are citing his lack of skill along with the praise. However for the people hating on him, making posts like these will encourage equally hyperbolic praise responses.

i predicted wilder in the pick em. i thought ortiz had a good shot because i dont rate wilder, but thought ultimately he would be too slow and old.

Ortiz even though he was past his best, was still very good. I thought he was winning the fight comfortably wilder for the most part got outboxed the whole fight and his right hand was a non factor. Ortiz just couldnt keep the pace up once they went into the championship rounds and he then got hit and finished.

I think Joshua will Ko him clean still. I expected wilder to show some improved boxing ability in this fight at a high level i just didnt see it. He still is very limited with just a right hand and amazing power. I think Joshua will pressure him and KO him pretty quickly. Only way i see him beating AJ is if the fight goes way into the late rounds and AJ gasses badly.

Ortiz isnt ATG status but Id definitely favor him over Parker. And if it werent for Joshua and Wilder, Ortiz would likely be the lineal HW champ right now. So hate on Wilders win all you want but theres no denying that Ortiz is the 3rd best current HW. I honestly didnt know much at all about Ortiz other than his piss test failures until this weekend. But From what I seen he has very good skill, good feints, good speed, nice combinations, great counter skills, and power.

                  Wilder A-
                  Joshua A-
                  Ortiz B+
                  Parker B-

In his previous 24 fights there were no stand out names on his resume. We also don't know how much of his success was aided by PEDs. In recent fights he looked slower and more lethargic, so for Wilder and his fans to touting this as a great win is telling of just how weak the division is right now.

Besides, these same Wilder fans were shyting all over Loma's win over Rigo because he was 37 and coming up in weight. Meanwhile, Ortiz is as least 38, fat and out of shape, and three inches shorter. Great win doe.
