Any American Wilder fans?

Yup, been a fan of his since he won that title.

He started boxing at a very late age and was able to obtain a bronze medal in the olympics and became a world champion (albeit in a weak era).

What I really like about him is his personality. He's not a boring drone like Crawford and Spence (though I'm a fan of both of those guys as well) and isn't afraid to speak his mind.

Yea same here. I like when fighters are serious like rrol and crawford, but i do not when a fighter has a dynamic personality. Just not too over the top like a Broner.

they hated technical boxing, it was boring, they loved knock outs but now they want "more technical" knock outs....

There's plenty that hated KO's and entertaining fights and fighters with limited skill but now like power and limited skill.

I find Wilder to be a limited fighter with crazy fight changing/ending power. I find his technique and ring IQ to be poor and his personality is obnoxious and corny. In addition to that he comes across as dumb and racist in addition to starting a fight with a man in front of his wife and young children and assaulting women. It's possible to hold that against a dude.

I have been following Wilder ever since he competed in the Olympics. On another boxing board (now defunct) I started a thread shortly after his pro career started stating that he was the future of American Heavyweights. I was literally laughed at and I understood. Look. Everyone knows he isn't the most skillful fighter out there but he is charismatic,powerful and always in great shape. That used to be a recipe for fame in the USA for a heavyweight fighter but unfortuntely for Wilder, he came around about 25 to 30 years too late. Boxing lost the casual fan base years ago in the USA for various reasons and Wilder suffers for it. I watched ESPN Sports Center after the fight,again in the morning when I woke up and there was no mention of this fight. The Mainstream news/Sports media in this country completely ignored it. That tells you something dosen't it ?

Damn that is lame. The fight deserves attention. Was edge of your seat more than once.

Absolutely. Who wouldn't support a fighter that ALWAYS delivers and just wants to desperately prove himself against the best in his division? I literally couldn't think of a rational reason to dislike him.

Good.I must have missed that version.You would have thought that there would have been some mention of it on Sports Center after the fight ended. I stayed up till 2 AM watching and saw nothing about this fight. It was on the sports ticker on the bottom of the screen and that was it.

I like and appreciate all styles but I do have my favs. I can enjoy a brawl or I can enjoy a chess match. Wilder started boxing at 19 and is 6'7, hes basically been learning on the GO, I think we should never expect him to be a fighter who relies on technical advantages and IQ. he uses what he has to his advantage. All I can do is appreciate him for what he does and brings to the table. Dumb? Racist? okay that's your opinion cool, u can try to find things to complain about and its your right, but me personally I am not interested nor do I care.
