Wilder had to rely on pure power and his reach advantage. The younger, quicker man caught up to the older, slower man.
Wilders youth in his legs helped him out tremendously. When Ortiz came in with combos he was able to avoid most of those with his legs. The Klitchko that fought Joshua had very little pep in his step.

Sultan Ibragimov would beat Luis Ortiz. Never mind Wladimir Klitschko!

Luis Ortiz is getting horribly overrated all of a sudden now. The best 2 opponents that he beat (Bryant Jennings and Tony Thompson) happen to be Wladimir Klitschko's left overs who aren't even Wladimir Klitschko's best opponents in the first place.

Everything about Ortiz is getting overrated now. If Wladimir Klitschko beat that version of Luis Ortiz whilst he was the same age as Wilder with similar number of fights. Some of those same individuals praising Wilder for his victory over that version of Luis Ortiz would be criticizing Wladimir Klitschko for beating an old, out of shape man. And somehow that would be evidence of the division being weak. But when Wilder does it, it all of a sudden equates to a 'great' victory somehow and proves the heavyweight division is strong somehow.

The double standards are blatantly apparent!

Hahahahaha. Wlad is an All Time Great, Wilder is a lousy unskilled yet athletic journeyman with an equalizer (who throws many illegal punches that would get him DQed on neutral ground)

Luis Ortiz has done nothing in his career, absolutely nothing. He was ranked #4 or whatever in the worst state of the Heavyweight division.

Who has Luis Ortiz beat? How many belts did he hold? How long was he champion? You guys seem to be boxing fans for a year or whats wrong with you? Dont know shit about the sport and flapping your gums. Some weird punk kids here.

Wlad had been ripe for the picking for a while. He was over 40, coming off an 18 month lay off, coming off a defeat and clearly faded anyway.

He only looked alright v AJ because AJ's big stiff upright style was tailor made for Wlad, so his experience served him well at times. A younger Wlad would have demolished him. That was not a good version of Wlad in there, no matter how much some people want to believe it was.

Wlad looked incredible that night. Bouncing in and out on his feet and positioning himself well. He made the mistake of not finishing Joshua earlier on, and was then undone by Joshua's size and power.

Ortiz wouldn't be able to land a glove Wlad. You need size and strength to beat Wlad, Ortiz has neither.

No doubt W. Klitchko is an ATG thats not even in question. My thing is, Wilder was able to weather a lot of Ortizs combos by moving back so quick. A few times during Wilder vs. Ortiz, Wilder had to go from center ring to the ropes real quick, an Old Klitchko despite some spring in his step wasnt going to be able to do that.

That Bryant Jennings fight was the true beginning of his end. Thats why I say Ortiz wins. Ortiz is pretty fast for an old guy too. He was actually faster (Imo) than the more athletic Wilder. Also southpaws can be tricky in a clinch, that short right Ortiz caught Wilder with wouldve found a home in the clinch.

There is a reason why Finkel said in Jan 2015, Deontay is not to be rushed for Wlad. Both sparred each other and I suspect that Wilder got hit way too much

Sultan Ibragimov hasn't been mentioned this much since 2007. That fight ****** btw. One thing these conversations have convinced me is that Vitali was the better of the brothers.
