And Kell Brook wouldn't be better at 154? Errol Spence won the first fight fair and square but Kell Brook had to have a 20 week training camp just to make weight. Anyone who knows anything about training knows you would be overtrained if you trained that long but he had no choice to make 147. Brook was outboxing Spence first half of that fight. Errol then took over second half of that fight with the combination of the pace he set, Brook's eye socket broken and a lack of gas in the tank due to making weight. Hearn is just saying that to make noise as any good promoter would but anyone who doesn't think a Brook v Spence rematch is competitive at 154 doesn't know boxing.
He wasnt outboxing anything. It was closw the first half but Brook wasnt winning. Spence right hook was landing with ease by rd twoComment

First half Brook was up 4-2 on two of the scorecards, 3-3 on the other. I guess what you mean is that in your opinion he wasn't winning, but from what I saw and what the judges saw, Brook was handling him just fine (and just to remind, I'm a Spence fan).
If Spence really was digging to the body effectively, I would have seen it and hopefully the judges would too, bit that's not why Brook fell apart after round 6. The pace of the first 6 rounds was nothing extraordinary, nor was the amount of body work done (by either), Brook basically faded because of the weight.
By round 7 and 8 he became a a walking punchbag, and Spence can't take credit for that as his body of work up to that point was no more than Brook's.
I still think Spence beats him at 154, maybe 8-4 or so, but otherwise a competitive bout. I believe Spence will have learned a lot after the first bout, particularly the first 6 rounds where he was unable to establish himself. Brook will be able to go the full 12 at 154, but Spence would establish clear dominance this time. Just my opinion.
And ps: I'm a HUGE fan of body-work to the extent that I get frustrated at judges a lot who don't seem to appreciate it when its effective. But this is NOT what I saw from Spence in the first half of the fight - this time the judges got it right.
However, not sure what fight the judges were watching vs Golovkin as they were giving him rounds in that fight that he clearly didn't win. Scoring criteria there seemed to be 'Brook still on his feet, so score the round for him on that basis'. Except for the second I think it was which was clear for him. As mentioned, not a Brook fan, but he went up in my estimation after the first 6 rounds vs Spence.Last edited by angkag; 03-05-2018, 12:18 PM.Comment

GGG ruined Brook for Spence to capitalize on at 147. Hearn is right about Brooke real weight atc154 and proved fresh again.
Spence is another overrated Haymon con job. He isnt a fraud like Wilder but he isn't the real deal either. Too many flaws in that chin and style when matched vs a puncher. Which is why Spence is carefully kept away from punchers.Comment

The obsessed with the 0 has turned USA fighters into cowards, looking to cherry pick the easiest big names coming off losses or past their primes.
People like you supporting corruption and the ducking is what really wring with boxing. Take a bow.Comment

These are all facts.
You gave a factual source of how the judges did have Brook winning up until the damage GGG did 7 months prior showed up. The swelling around the eyes made Brook whole demeanor change in round 7.First half Brook was up 4-2 on two of the scorecards, 3-3 on the other. I guess what you mean is that in your opinion he wasn't winning, but from what I saw and what the judges saw, Brook was handling him just fine (and just to remind, I'm a Spence fan).

Spence should have thanked GGG for that. Brook at 154 is equal to Spence or better. Spence still hasn't been eager fight a puncher which is why you won't see him until Haymon can make a ppv.Comment
