Meh, I haven't really defended Stevenson's choice of opposition these past few years. So you're barking up the wrong tree with that one.

They both ducked each other. First Stevenson by running to Showtime and then Kovalev by re-signing with HBO. Either praise both for their business sense or deride both for their refusal to fight each other. Pointing out one over the other is pure bias and favoritism. You're smart enough to see that if you just take a step back.

How many Main Events fighters vs PBC fighters fights have been made in the last 3 years? Not many I'd assume. Who's at fault....who cares & who really knows cuz we don't see the behind the scenes bs but they aren't getting made is something we all see.

I believe Sauerland has said a WBSS at 175 would be very difficult due to the competing tv rights and promoter rivalries.

But if not for that I agree that it would be a perfect division to hold a tournament in.

It would have been more money for Stevenson vs Kovalev which is the main point. I'm not claiming that it would have been more than the entire HBO contract.
