Annoying but it wasnt out of nowhere. Wilder looked ****ed. They were right to check him
    This.

They got mfers doing tests & sh^t in between rounds in NY & doing more "Doctor Checks" right after the round in NY than any other commission I can think of. And Wilder was f#cked up to all hell that round. Surprised he legit didn't go down.

So it wasn't unusual at all. I can understand why some think differently, but its wrong. They weren't "helping" Wilder they were trying to protect themselves from losing another $22M lawsuit.

Complete non issue. Doctor has that authority, and extra seconds after a minute make no difference in the outcome of the fight. Ortiz should have pressed him harder.

Klitchko learned the same lesson against AJ

In New York, because of Abdusalomov, a ringside doctor has 100% independent authority to check whichever fighter at any time they choose. Most of the time it's only off of unanswered shots, which Wilder was taking that round.
This is true. Most definitely. If they check during the 1 min break, they are usually intending on stopping it ASAP

Yeah I counted 18 seconds . Thats a lot of time to recover in boxing. He had 1 minute and then all of a sudden there are timeouts in boxing .

That was like a mouthpiece spit.

It clearly helped wilder recover . Without thst 8 seconds he probably gets stopped .

They helped wilder out . The ref could have checked him in his corner. Im keeping it real , wilders win is tainted with a special timeout

It happens a lot in the fights in NYC due to the rules, so it's unfair saying it was done solely to help Wilder.

That said, i find it very annoying in general. The doctor should have a look between rounds, it only takes about 10 seconds. It really disrupts the flow of the fights.

Nothing fishy, as others have stated. But on a general note, the doctor ought to make his check during the one-minute break, not after. A few extra seconds can mean a lot when your head is spinning. I don’t know if it changed the course of this particular fight, but it can definitely be a game-changer.

Its unfortunate that the officials messed up a good fight. Why didnt they do that for ortiz after he was knocked down ?

                      Something is fishy.
